filling the drones with water automatically

i don't think there is anyways and i'v already looked through a few other discussions but i figgered i would make one to see if anyone had anything new to say. also anyone who says that a farm is 100% automated just by having the drones is incorrect because you still have to put water in them.

Actually I think I might test an idea somebody else had, if you put a tarr on a slime stage and then have a hydro turret shoot at it with a drone in the middle, can you somehow get it to recharge the drone. I'm going to try all the points that might work, I will get back to this post once I am done.

that'd just make it an even longer process. tarr will die over time even while on a slime stage, or immediately when you sleep. so even if you could find 3 gadget spots close enough together, you'd still need to replace the tarr frequently, at which point you may as well just take the time to water your drones yourself.

That is what I am trying to figure out, so far I can water the drones, and I can lead a tarr onto the slime platform with some well placed hen hens and crates, but I am stuck on finding a way to generate tarrs.
Edit: Also, I am just trying to see if it is possible, not if it is easy or reasonable

Well... having a 99.9% automated farm is WAY TOO MUCH already considering what the game is about. So I won't even bother with trying to make the ONLY TASK LEFT automated...

frankly i don't like keeping things that automated either. i fill the autofeeders myself and let drones take care of all the plorts since it's a less time-sensitive task. drones can only go so fast and i like my slimes to be fed at the same time to limit agitation.

I mean, I have one drone for feeding and one for the plorts... and that already works incredibly well. So I'm already wondering, what we need the upcoming upgrade for... >_>

likely just increase in travel speed, maybe item capacity, and other such efficiencies.

The only way to, as stated earlier, is more tedious than the current watering process. A key thing to note though is that drones were never meant to fully automate, or at least were never advertised as such. Currently, the only form of input you need after setting them up is a single unit of water.

Well I am trying to figure out a way to automate tarr production, and so far i think i have an idea, tarrs will not die if you feed them, so i am trying to see if i can find a way for the drone auto feeder to shoot food at the tarr.

This right here is an issue in the logic since it is false. Tarr have a death timer that starts as soon as they spawn. No way to increase this without mods. You seem to be basing this more so off their replication which runs into another issue, their population would kill itself faster than you could grow it once it got to a certain size. The latter point of auto feeders doesnt help either since the fastest takes 3x as long to feed than the tarr can survive even if it would do anything to their life span.

I think I worded it wrong oops.
What I meant was that if they were fed, the ones that were fed would produce Tarr, they would die out, and the Tarr they produced would then be fed and produce more Tarr, and the cycle repeats, I have not found a way to automate it yet though so for the time being a fully automated drone is impossible. It won't be until the better build / better build remake mod has been made (Or if it even is being made, I think the original dev of BetterBuild is reviving it last I heard, could be outdated info though :/ )
