Worthless trades - do they get any better?

Day 68. I can trade two tabby plorts and a phase plort for a chicken and some heart beets and 250 coins. Wow. Yeah, on day 5 this would have been good, but now it's not worth the time. Do these trades get any better?

the trades run the same generation code from start to finish. the only time they really get decent is when the rewards pick a rare slime science resource as a trade reward (lava dust royal jelly or strange diamonds. trades are mostly beneficial early game, or for unlocking the rancher side quests for mochi ogden and viktor.

It's worth it if you're having a slow day and already have them. Like my tabby plorts are selling for 20 each, and my quantums for around 50, so trading 3 of those worth 90g for a few bits of food and 250g is a good trade, although not amazing. (Helped further by feeding the chickens to my saber/hunter largos, and the beets to my fire slimes for even more money.)
