[RESOLVED][Linux] Game doesn't start, last update broke it
"""
An error occurred while updating Slime Rancher (missing executable):
/home/@@@/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Slime Rancher/SlimeRancher.x86_64
"""
This is on linux (ubuntu 19.10)

I've tried verifying game data and it doesn't find any problems

Looking in the installation folder there is only the data folder and "SlimeRancher.x86" so maybe it was only exported to a 32 bit binary in unity although for some reason there are 64 bit libraries included in the data folder so maybe it just didn't finish exporting, maybe there was an error and no one noticed.

Perhaps the last update needs to be rolled back?

- fixed in 1.4.1b

Unless you have the exact same issue on linux, you should describe other issues in a new thread.

I tried running the 32 bit executable but it crashes on the menu, looking at the logs it can't find "SlimeRancher_Data/Mono/libsteam_api" among others because there is no "Mono" directory.

I think you guys need to try exporting it again because something has gone wrong here.

Just to make sure, I re-downloaded/installed the game and we still have a missing executable and missing libraries. Hope you guys can fix it soon.
I have been having the same issue since the last update on Debian.

Just to be clear I was talking about the last update of slime rancher which must have landed sometime earlier today, it was working without issues before and as I mentioned previously this seems to be a problem with missing files/libraries within the installation folder indicating that it was not fully exported from unity.

While I'm assuming we're on the same page here I just want to clarify that this isn't a platform issue as in missing libraries within linux.
That's right, sorry for the confusion. It is definitely due to the most recent update to the game, not due to an update to my distro.

I've emailed the developers and linked them to this thread; hopefully they'll push a fix out soon.

Yep, won't start for me on Debian 10 either. Looks like the linux build got borked somehow. Really sucks, I wanted to slime today :(

The same here in the manjaro 18.1.3

Confirming identical symptoms on Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon 64-bit. Purchased and played game last night, and today it's broken. Verified game files and uninstalled/reinstalled. Manually running SlimeRancher.x86 crashes on the menu.

I am also affected, missing SlimeRancher.x86_64 !

I'm also in this boat. And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one. This way, they might get a fix for it out before too long. (although forcing us to miss a day of Wiggly Wonderland WOULD be too long)
Hey, I "fixed" it by renaming the executable - it seems steam is searching for an executable called SlimeRancher.x86_64 but theres only one called SlimeRancher.x86 I just added the _64 and it started. now it only crashes once I loaded into the main menue :(

Yes. I tried that too. And I had the same problem. It's not really a fix or a workaround if we still can't get into the main game.

Debian 10 here, also broken. I NEED MY WIGGLES.

Well, if there's any silver lining to this, I think the Wiggly Wonderland event isn't starting yet. Last year, it started on December 15th. So we just have from the moment they fix the patch to whenever to expand our reach to as far as possible.
