How do Twinkle Slimes work?

I just fired up Slime Rancher after not playing it for a month or so, and found out about twinke slimes. I just found my first one today. When I walked over to him he disapeared, and left behind a funny looking transporter, which would take me back to my ranch, but I didn't see any "chimes". Did I have to do something, like shoot food at him like you do with a Party Gordo?

No, you don't need to food him, when you approach, the Twinkle Slime will begin to sing more and more until it dissapears, after that, chimes will appear in pre-determined places.

If you missed any Twinkle Slime, you can change the mouth/day/year to get it again. I don't know if you can always repeat it in the same year.

It's impossible that you didn't notice the chimes, I recommend you to restart Slime Rancher and return back where you stop. Then, you can change the day to 12/18/2017 or 18/12/2017 (12/18/2019+ or 18/12/2019+ if it didn't work, but you'll probaly miss the slime next year. DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE THE PLACE BEFORE CHANGING THAT) and collect it again.

they just appear after it pops. did you maybe stand on top of it and fell into the portal before seeing them? or not look above you in this instance since there's no ground level ones for today?

Now I feel like an idiot. After the Twinkle slime vanished, I looked all around that area, but I never looked UP! The chimes were floating up in the air over my head the whole time.

By the way, do the chimes last forever, like ornaments & echos? I wondered if you could collect them, and then lay them out in a line a create your own songs?

Yes, they last forever. Also, if you change your computer day/mouth/year (or mouth/day/year), you can get the chimes that you lost.

Oh, I didn't lose them. This time when I went back to that same location it occured to me to look up. There they were. I found a 2nd twinkle today, but when he flew away the chimes were all around me and easy to spot. I still think it might be fun to scoop up a bunch of chimes and try to arrange them to play something like....I don't know....Smoke on the Water or Born to Be Wild.

in addition to going back for the ones you missed, you can also go and redo days to get extra chimes, or to have another set to leave there and look pretty.

I thought about taking some back to my ranch, but my ranch is so filled with ornaments & echos and toys & crapolla that it is kinda embarassing. It looks like Rainbow Bright & My Little Poney started a junk yard.

I been too lazy so far, plus most of my silos are filled with plorts, one is chock full of gold plorts except for one bin I am filling with gilded gingers!
