Can't suck up kookadoba if it's not lying around loose
I've visited the wilds several times collecting kookadoba for Ogden. On my most recent trip I couldn't suck up any of the kookadobas which were still part of a growing plant. They looked ripe and exactly the way they always looked when I sucked them up, but they resisted the suction. I could only suck up the kookadoba which were lying around loosely without the leaves. I could of course suck up other things as well (chickens, berries, plorts, etc.) At first I thought I had found a bugged kookadoba plant, but they were all the same. Is there a reason for this?

I just logged back into the same game (which I had saved and closed while in the Wild), and now I can suck up the growing kookadobas again. Was it a bug, I wonder?

Just wanted to say my husband had this problem too.

Hi, it's half a year later, and I'm having this issue too, with kookadoba plants and other fruits.

The only solution I've found so far is to save & quit, then go back in. Hope this helps anyone who stumbles upon this thread!

This helped me with the Xbox version as well.
I had done the quicksilver and bug report gathering missions a bunch and was surprised at how miserably hard kookadoba collection was in comparison.
I had gone on 3 separate runs with maybe 8 fruit total collected (at least 3 from crates).
I'd found more decayed kookadoba than ripe ones by far.
After saving and completely forcing game quit from the Xbox main menu. I resumed an empty-handed run and quickly gathered 25 kookadobas. Went back for another run with 35 gathered.
Thanks so much for this post. I was going nuts trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.

Fully quitting the game is essential. I had tried "save & quit" from the menu and continued a few times with no change. Fully shutting down the game is what changed the results.
