Gardens and Feeding Slimes
I've got a massive surplus of fruits and veggies, with each corral holding 4 largos, with a crop for each corral. With 15 fruits/veggies per garden a day, should I double the number of largos to overcome the surplus? Or will 5-6 largos per pen do the trick?

Per day your max consumption is 16 items of food per corral (24 hours in a day/6 hours per feeding according to hunger growth*number of largos) which i presume you have sprinklers on each garden, so you are producing 2 harvests a day for 30 food a day per garden. Therefore you have a 14 food unit surplus, enough to hold onto another 3 largos per corral if you want to control hunger. If focusing on agitation you have enough food production to easily control 10 largos (also better on the plort production aspect if you got for agitation control over hunger control here, 30 plorts per corral every 12 hours rather than 14)

Long story short, doubling will deal with the surplus in time but you can easily manage up to triple.

iirc, this is just based on the auto feeder times, slow lets you keep 5, medium is 7, and large is 12. if you're using auto feeders and they're constantly full, you're most likely safe to add more in there. if you're doing it manually, id say yes, but only if you're noticing you are back at the ranch often enough that theres uneaten food on the floor virtually every time you get home

Fill corals to the brim, until largos start spilling out. Then forget feeder, deposit food directly in coral, it will all be eaten before it spoils.

I beg to differ.

Sometime back in 2017, the auto feeder was a bit faster. But today the auto feeder has cycles of 3h / 6h / 9h hours. While the fastest setting still support 12 slimes, medium only supports 6 and the slowest 4.

First I noticed my quantum slimes were excaping. Should not happen if they are well fed. So I watched my Autofeeder, set to slowest. It diposed food at 12:05, 21:05, 6:05 - that's a 9h interval.

im pretty sure your numbers are right DC-GS, but i just reported what other (obviously older) people worked out. your numbers rounded to whole slimes is the math i got, but i always figure i could be wrong since most people dont say them
