Is there an easier way to collect money from pens?

If I have the projectile spitting big slimes in a holding pen and i feed them they give off some good gems, the problem is getting hit by their attacks. And if I get too close to them I vacuum one into my thing and have to shoot it back out. Is there a safer/easier way to get the money they drop?

And no I don't have the pirated version, I got this a couple months ago on the Epic store for $5.

Upgrades for the corral include auto feeders and auto plort collectors. Invest in those for the more dangerous slimes/largos.
Also, I find keeping the Slime Rancher wiki open in the Steam browser while I play to be most useful since I can pause, Shift+Tab, and reference it or maps while I play.

Yeah, there is an upgrade called Plort Collector. Basically, you just press a button and all the plorts will be deposited in a thing outside the corral. It costs 500 newbucks.
