Question about Largos and Favorite Food
Will largos always take on the favorite food of the base slime? For example if I have a honey slime, and feed it a hunter plort, will the resulting largo's favorite food be mint mango?

It takes on the favorite food of both base slimes... in your example, it will be Mint Mangoes or Roostros.

Largos give you more options for feeding... you could feed that Largo either fruit or meat to produce plorts (A Honey Rock Largo could eat fruits or veggies. A Rad Tabby Largo would eat meat or veggies, etc.).

Ahhhh, okay. I thought it was just one favorite food. But I haven't played since May so things may have changed. It's just that getting chickens is such a pain. They don't produce fast enough. I love how the hunter slimes look, but need something that eats a fruit or veggie since those produce faster. Now I just need to decide what to put with it. :P

Yeah... making Largos is a good way to get around iffy favorite foods (Crystal slimes are also a bit annoying in that regard, since Odd Onions are so hard to get).

(And I'm glad I'm not the only one who picks my slimes based on aesthetics...)

I got an Odd Onion and set up a garden. Then set up two more. But that brings up a question about Crystal Slimes. Would Rock Crystal largos be a bad idea?

The problem with Odd Onion gardens is you only get 3 or 4 Odd Onions per harvest and the rest is a pile of carrots, so it's hard to take advantage of the Crystal Slime's favorite food bonus.

I personally have a corral of Crystal/Rock Largos, so I wouldn't say it's a bad idea. They will only eat veggies, but Heart Beets are a lot easier to come by than Odd Onions.

Yah, I have silos full of fruit/veggies. *grins* I actually had two full spots (200) roostros too, when I heard they were the favorite of the hunter slime. But they aren't easy to get so as much as I love the hunter slimes au natural, it will be easier to feed them if I combine them. Thanks for the help. :)

I'm thinking Tabby Phosphurs was a bad idea. xD One mysteriously went missing and one keeps getting out of the pen.

Do you have the air nets and shades? I'm pretty sure the Phophors can fly out the top of the corrals.

(Which raises a good questions: do Phosphor Largos inherit the light sensitivity? I usuaully just stick mine in the cave. I might have to look into that...)

Mine are in the cave and yes there's an air net. But I thought the net could only take so many hits before going away and needing to recharge. Unless that's changed.

Hm, I don't know. I have some Phosphor/Boom Largos in a corral with an air net... it keeps them in check (Without it, they like to blast their food, plorts, and corral-mates out the top). Surely it could keep a Phosphor/Hunter Largo in check.

But then, I don't have much experience with Hunters and their quirks.

Tabby, not Hunter. And yes, boomers like to blast plorts everywhere. Mine do even with the air net. I'm thinking it's just a bug or the game being weird. Dunno. :P That's why I'm worried about the tabby phosphur largos getting out. I don't need them to find a stray boom/rad plort and have a tarr. Could a tarr get into a corral?
Rustoration Jan 3, 2017 @ 4:23pm
i haven't had a tarr outbreak ever really since i watched some lets plays before i had a pc that could physically run the game, but i'd assume tarr could get into other pens since i wouldn't see much risk with tarr if only the one corral's slimes got turned lol. phosphor largos are sensitive to light yes- all largos inheret the traits of both source slimes. this means diet, favorite foods, quirks, etc. as for feeding hunter with limited chickens, i recommend going out and collecting as many chicks as you can find on your daily runs. then throwing them into a coop. they should be grown by morning. slimes don't eat chicks so you don't have to worry about missing out on them before they're eaten like with full grown chickens, and they still allow for roostros. also being able to get all types of chickens with 3 slots of chicks instead of 4 slots of chickens, means you have the extra slot to hold fruit/veg in case of gold slimes. though i will warn that chicks that suddenly grow up overnight may ping each other out of the coop lol
