Ultimate Slime Science Combo

I was doing research about slime science, how much of each plort you need for the pumps, apiaries, and drills, what they eat, etc. Then I wanted to make it as efficient as possible, so it can be much easier for you to make all the gadgets you need to get more gadgets.

Largo Combos

- Pink-Rock
- Tabby-Rad
- Phosphor-Rock
- Honey-Pink
- Tabby-Pink
- Boom-Rad

Why I Chose These Combos

I chose these combos with efficiency in mind, so all of these can eat veggies. Through not that extensive research, veggies give you the most when you harvest them, so all of these combos can eat some kind of veggie.

The ones you need most have more than one. You need the most Pink, so there is three of them. You need a lot of Rock, Tabby, and Phosphor, so there is two of them (except Phosphor, and I'l explain why later). And the rest, there is only one.

Finally are their favorite foods. Rock and Rad have favorite foods that are veggies, so they will produce double the plorts, and that is why I only have one Phosphor, it is with a rock.

This is the best way I can think of when it comes to efficiency for your slime science. Note: this is only efficient for getting pumps, apiaries, and drills. What do you think?

well first off, i'd like to point out that all crops yield 15 on each harvest. the only exception is carrots and pogo fruit which give 20 each since they're the "common" food types that no slime favors, and odd onions as only a few grow with mostly carrots otherwise. i think the highest i've seen is a 7:13 ratio. while normally it's a good idea to have largos to better manage your slimes, the sheer amount of pink plorts you need for everything is huge and actually makes it better to house a corral of 50 or so normal pink slimes. largos are 4x the size and since they're round, that of course means they can't fill that extra space as easily. so you can have say 6 pink largos giving 48 pink plorts over the course of a day being fed their favorite food, (they get hungry about twice a day and take 2 of a favorite to be full from starving) or have 50 normal pink slimes that give several hundred plorts a day and are practically insatiable. pink plorts are the base for just about everything made in slime science. idk how many largo you keep per pen, but i personally suggest 6. it gives them room to stretch their... lack of legs... and keeps things a bit more tame for your more dangerous largos. and a single harvest from a fully upgraded garden can keep them well fed for the day until you come home for a 2nd feeding, as well as keeps the plort production high enough to craft with, but low enough that the upkeep doesn't keep you from exploring.

Yeah, I usually have 6 largos per pen. And with sleeping as soon as I'm done feeding them, I see no need having 50 small ones in one corral because if I do that for each slime, it would be a waste of space.

well you wouldn't have to do that with each slime. just for pinks as they're the most required overall. though may be useful if you're really low on a specific type of plort. provided they're not boom, tabby or hunter.

Fill the overgrowth with pink slimes (well maybe 40-50 of them, that's pretty full) and plant carrots everywhere. you can get 200+plorts a day that way without starving them. Then use other largo combos as you don' need to account for pink so much.

Just never drop a non-pink plort in the overgrowth after that or you are in for a treat :)

that could work as well if you don't mind using the whole area for them. i get all my pink slime corral's food from there, but that's reserved for my free-range hunters lol

This is how i set mine up:

Honey/saber- eat mangos (main area)
tabby/phos- cube berries (main area)
pinks by themselves- carrots or pogo (main area)
rads by them selves- oca oca (main area)
fire slimes- carrots or pogos (main area)
mosic/boom- sliver carrots (cave)
hunter/quantum- phase lemons (cave)
crystal/rock- heart beats (cave)
tangle/dervish- pears (lab area)
puddle slimes eat nothing (port)

then i have a farm for each food in caves/lab/overgrowth/main area
all hens are in different coops in port area and free in the over growth
3 silos one for foods 2 for plorts

seems to work great lol
