Just get half way up and stop on the wall and do it again.
That was the first thing i tried.
My jetpack died from lack of energy in a matter of seconds, and while i was waiting to jump up more, i just slid back down.
Thanks to Bethesda games, i always try 'cliff-running' first. Didn't work for me.

I'll assume i'm not far enough in the game to understand what you mean by 'place a warp', as well.
