Which is better largo or single?
I started making each corral for a set of the same largo combos, for example I mixed the Phosphor slime with the Rock Slime. I like getting double the profit for only having to feed one type of food they like. I am somewhat regretting it because I don't like the layout of my corrals and my gardens, etc. I know you can destroy them but that seems more of a burden than what I do. I'm just wondering from your personal preference, do you do single slimes or largo slimes?

Largo slimes are much more efficient, theyre bigger so you can have only so many though. Plus when you feed a slime their favorite food it gives 2 of each plort.

Largos. And not only Largos but certain types paired up are more efficient than others

100% Largos, they are more cost effective and in some cases easier to take care of.

I just wasn't certain and I probably also wasn't pairing the right combos together, like you said Metadragon.

I had Largos throughout my base (excluding fire/puddle slimes) and recently destroyed them to make them single slimes again. They're just so much cuter and the tedious work to keep them sated with their favorite foods keeps me playing.:slimehappy:

After you get to the point where you dont need quick money and you have gardens: gardens produce 15 crops so i prefer to make single slimes x 15 each corral so they eat whenever i give them food but largos are so big that you can only fit 5-10 and they dont eat whenever you give them, they only eat when they are hungry. I personally only keep dervishes as singles because of the look of largos : ).
Edit:you also need to make largos with meat ones. AND PINK ONES.

Its basically That you wanna make meat eaters and mix them with veggies or fruit eaters because meats are harder to farm. I think you can make hostile slimes docile by mixing them with one. I do keep some seperate though like Dervish or Quantum Slimes because they are pretty. I tend to keep Crystal slimes seperate too because they spawn those nasty crystals.

I actually am very non-efficient in some regards because I like Puddle Slime. They are good boys and girls just minding their own business flopping around like little blue pancakes and they get embaressed if there are too many of them close to each other.

But yeah basically the only slimes you shouldnt corral and mix are pinkies.

Actually I think the pond buff has made puddle slimes viable, you no longer have to run back and forth getting them water, this gives you more time for other stuff like adventuring.

I hate Largoes... Sure, they give out more plorts, and you can make carnivorous slimes easier to keep by mixing them with herbivorous slimes, but I find them horrible to manage. You can't suck them up or "vac" them, they get in the way much more often when you go inside the pen to - say - pick up excess food, and the rock and crystal Largoes smack into you too much. Plus, Largoes are only one step away from creating a Tarr whereas a small slime requires two. So if you have an accident with smaller slimes, atleast you have that buffer zone and you can keep track of who ate what, which makes replenishing your stock easier.

Particularly for me, I have had so many instances where a small slime I see out in the wild eats a different plort and turns into a Largo that won't help me, both because I can't transport it very easily and it is the wrong type of Largo that I would want to have.

That, and I am somewhat of a purist collector. Eventually I want to have exactly 10 of each type of small slime that can be caught. Raising chickens is still a bit precarious without going into the wild parts every so often but I am getting there.

Largos all the way. Meat is annoying to upkeep as a favorite food, so I mix them with fruit and veggie slimes. Remember to keep ranch areas exclusive to fruit or veggie hybrids, but not both, this way your drones will have more to do and you won't ever need a third drone.

I have maximized efficiency and space on my ranch with largos, to the point that I have an entirely unused area, plus a spare henhen coop just because I like BOb lol.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I now have a question: Will drones pick up chickens from the Overgrowth area and give them to your carnivorous slimes for you?

simple answer. is outside plot an available source for that target? if yes, then yes, if no, then no.

My fault, I forgot to specify whether the chickens were in coops or not. They are free-range. So I am assuming the drones will pick them up, then?

appears i may not have been clear on what i was saying. each drone has 3 variables, a target, a source and a destination. as i said, the answer depends on if the source "outside plot" is an option for the target, in this case, chickens. free range for a source would also work in this case.
