Looking for some Suggestions (for a mid-late game new player.)
First off, I have to say I love the game, it's really good. I got it at vs 1.01 so I am pretty new to it, only started a few days a go, but I say I been doing pretty well for myself. I do however could use some suggestion on slime management.

Part of my problem is that I feel I am overworking myself a bit. I belive I am on day 35 or around there. I just bought the 40k coin 7Z corp reward. I just got into the ruins, but it takes so much time to do anything around the farm.

Currently I have only 1 teleporter (working on getting more) That goes from the lab to the overgrowth, but keeping my slimes fed has been a massive hassle regardless. Currently, I am running about 7 corals. 1 silo, 14 gardens and 4 water pools.

Docks has the 4 water pools and that is where all my puddle slimes are kept.

4 plots of the overgrowth are fully upgraded gardens:
They are 2 odd onion patchs 1 oca oca, and 1 heart beat patch.

The main farm has 4 gardens (1 Oca oca, 2 heart beat, 1 pogofruit)
3 Corrals (1 Pink tabbies, 1 Tabby rocks, 1 Rock Phospors) about 8 - 12 Largos each and the silo

The underground cave is all gardens with about 30 free roaming pink phospors largos feeding on 3 trees of cube furits. The two upper plots are pogofruit (They are used for feeding the lab)

The lab has 4 corrals (Boom Rad, Boom Crystals, Honey Hunters, Honey Crystals) about 8 -12 largos per pen. and the back side plot are mint melons.

My problem right now is that if takes me SO many ingame days on end to manage all my slimes, get the food storage up in the pens, making sure the corral plort storage is sold, and then I can only leave the farm for a short period of time to explore. I been wanting to get into having quantom slime largos, but what can I do to even set up a place for them?

I wish there was some form of automation for some things like, selling plorts. but we got these teleport nodes, that do help out a bit (Specially the reinfery and market teleporters) Maybe im just working myself too hard.

Yeah, there is a lot of work mid-late game, and right now the best I can offer is having a system and planning ahead. The good news is the devs have promised us drones to help automate some of the ranch maintenance. Don't know what they'll do yet, but very much looking forward to it!

My suggestion for quantums: dump the pink phosphors in the cave and put quantum phosphors in there instead.

I set up my largos so each has one favorite food that is easy to farm, and with the exception of my pink-mosaics, the corrals are in the same area as the corresponding gardens. Between that and the refinery/market links, I have empty vac chambers when I move from one area to the next. If you don't want to move stuff around like that, place some warp depots near your gardens, with the other end next to the corral of the appropriate slime. Works for both easily transporting the food and storing whatever doesn't fit in the auto-feeder.

Do not put boom, tangle, or dervish largos near other slimes - all have a bad habit of either tossing their plorts into other corrals or snagging plorts from other corrals.

Tangles, when you get them, can self-feed to some extent. Either place them in the Overgrowth to pick off free-roaming chickens, or cross them with a fruit or veggie eater and plant the favorite food in the adjoining plots.

Hope some of this helps!

I feel the same way at first. Now its better because i made them into largos and i just tried different things over time to see what works best for you.

I set mine up by food,

3 chicken coops in the plot of 4 in the main ranch (mosaic hunter largo in the fourth corral)

2 plots phase lemons and 2 silos in the other 4 spots.

Overgrowht has all corrals, no food (since food appears there naturally), with Mosaic Tangle, Dervish Tangle, and Rad Tangles in the lower 3 corrals, and quantum tabbies in the upper one. The Tangle largos can feed themselves almost exclusively, and i only have to make sure they have food and feed the tabbies

The Docks has:

puddle slimes in the water pool, and boom-honey slimes with 2 fruit tree plots and 1 silo down below

The lab has:

phosphor mosaic, mosaic dervish, and rock-crystal largos. Then I have heartbeat crop and cube berry plot

The grotto has:

incinerator and fire slimes, 1 silo, 1 silver parsnip plot, 1 odd onion plot, and 1 corral with crystal-mosaic slimes and free ranging tabby slimes and chickens

For the most part, i never have to feed them. I just empty my crops, stick them in auto feeders on each corral, and then leave the farm for days at a time harvesting resources, returning to pull out all the plorts and sell them, and rinse and repeat.

The Tangles are nice in the over growth becuase they literally feed themselves on the fruit, veggie, and chickens already provided

I feel like I have a pretty good setup, so here I go.

1. It's okay to neglect your slimes somewhat, there are very few slimes that are so high maintainance that they will be an issue. Focus on popping as many gordos as you can to progress through the zones, the slimes in the last zone are well worth it.

2. To make food less of a problem, pick a favorite fruit or veggie eater, like honey, rad, or later dervish and mosaic, and have them merged with more profitable types like boom, crystal (because onions are hard to farm), and hunter. My main farm is 4 different mosaic largos, and all of my gardens around them are silver parsnips, their favorite food.

3. Free range is easy to maintain and really fun to play with. I have 3 of my 5 areas filled with beautiful largos frolicking with their favorite foods, and it makes handling some types like boom and quantum much less of a headache. Just fill all the plots in an area with their favorite food, like you did with your phosphers and let them go nuts.

4. If you want to progress in science quicker, you need more resources. To get more resources you need more collectors, which means you need a TON of pink plorts. Any non-moneymakers should be a pink largoed with another slime you need plorts of, like tabby or rock. This makes science easy to fund, and you can feed them the scraps of the free range slimes, they don't need 100 cuberries, so spare some.

This is how my farm is set up, and I've only had problems once I felt like I've done everything and it's just the grind for gold. You have plenty of time to experiment.

My advice to you is to scale down your operation a little bit. If you reduce the number of Largos in each corral to 6 (and the feeder speed can be set to slow), and have only 1 food plot for each largo type, they will fill up the plort collector every couple of days, leaving you time to explore and do the fun stuff out in the world.

I also use warp depots as food storage, which speeds up harvesting and feeding by storing the food right next to the corral without using a silo. Once you have fewer ranch chores to do, you can go out in the world and find some treasure pods that drop the diamonds you need for warp tech. There are guides that can help you find them, which I recommend.

I would post my ranch set-up, but it relies heavily on warp tech to function easily. If you have any follow-up questions, pm me.

I think you have too many garden and water pound , and not enought coral , also at the begining i was like "damn , i want every slime in my ranch" , and i've done it , but after some time i've understand it wasnt the more efficient , so this is my actual ranch https://gyazo.com/48e3d2d154ed4f82857d8583174ff8b4

Following my letter/number system on this picture , this is my setup :

A :
1,2 = food silo (silver p)
3,4,5,6 = random slime coral (for science)
7,8 = plort silo (from E 1,2,3,4 and D 1,2,3,4)

B:
1,2,3,4 = silver parsnip

C:
1,3,4,5 = plort silo (every plort of the game 100unit perstorage)
2 = some rare food in a silo

D:
1,2,3,4 = 6x mosaic-tangle in each coral
5 = incinerator with fire slime

E:
1,2,3,4 = 6x mosaic-dervish slime in each coral

As you can see , i dont have chicken anymore , and even when my ranch was stuffed with each slime type it wasnt the case cuz i've mix meat-eater with vegetable-eater so only garden was needed (less time consuming , less taken slot).

Hope it help , i can provide a "clean" map if you need it for plan your ranch.

This is my minimal, all plorts covering setup

Main area of the farm:

at the two plots next to the house
mosaic+tangle with silver carrots next to them (they can autofeed from half the the plot). - tangles can go at any place having a 2 plort area, just avoid two corrals next to each other, otherwise they can grab the plorts out of other coralls.

then the big 4 plots:
derwish+pink with a Spikey pear next to it
Honey and hunter with a mint next to it
Crystal and phosphor with a cuberry next to it.
The 2 plots towards the grass area:
tabby and rock with heartroots next to them

Cave:

left Fireslime
right Waterpond (since it's now infinite)
the last empty one for whatever you wanna burn to feed the fireslime. (preferably pogofruit, since they grow the largest numbers)

lower 2 areas
rad and boom slime with ocaoca field next to it.

now whats missing is the quantum slime, I merged them with pinks and let them freeroam on the grass area which they never leave and then they gonna eat all naturally growing chicken, veggies and fruits.
However you can merge them with any other slime eating veggies or fruits and use the plots there to plant these (but no scarecrow). if youw ant you cna also make a corral with them encaged you then have to feed them but cna autocollect the plorts.

This all is an easy to manage setup since favourite food is always exactly next to the slimes and there are no long ways to walk. And nothing actually goes wrong if you put like 10 largos in them. Also, no chicken required AND you still have 4 collars and the pond left at the harbor as well as 5 collars left at the laboratory for whatever you like to do. So plenty of room for coming updates and their slimes. And constantly feeding the slimes is still enough to ruin market prices.
