Motion Sickness Report
I've been having severe motion sickness playing 20 mins or so into the game where I felt very nauseous. I've tried to increase FOV to max but it doesn't seem to help. I've experience motion sickness similarly in Talos and they have motion sickness adjustments which somewhat helps to play a bit longer. Is there a setting or recommendations that could be added into the game to help reduce motion sickness?

For a game so simple and cute, it really strains eyes. A blood vessel burst in my eye on day 2 of playing this game. It didn't hurt, but I could really feel my eyes straining to keep up with the information all over the place.

Aside from the standard hullubula about taking regular breaks, there isn't much in the way of settings to help with motion sickness. More people need to write about this on the official forums, because there is a real risk of blindness going on here.

increasing FOV makes motion worse for me. Try reducing it instead, maybe down to 60 or 50? That seems to reduce the goldfish-bowl effect.

Apart from that, to be honest I think the movement is set a little too fast for more sensitive eyes. With shift and boost boots available for those that want faster running it would be nice if initial speed was slowed a little. Maybe a walking-boot could be added as an initial upgrade option as a work-around for those struggling with motion-sickness or similar?

I just came to the forums to talk about the same thing. I am really enjoying this game but I just can not continue because of severe motion sickness. I played about an hour and a half session the other day and it hit me suddenly. Everything was just spinning, and had to consciously hold back the puke.

Being to sick to think straight, I just walked away from the computer and went and layed down for
a long while (the vertigo lasted the entire rest of the day). Forgetting the game was still counting hours, and now I believe I'm passed the refund time on steam.

So if anyone does have any suggestions to help reduce motionsickness I would also appreciate it!

(Motionsickness in gaming is something I have never been prone to before :guppy: )

It's weird, because I've always had a motion sickness problem and this game has never triggered it. I guess everyone gets motion sick from different things though.

As a poster above said, increasing (or sometimes reducing) the FOV usually helps. Playing the game in a smaller window can help. Other than that I don't really know what you could do with this game, it doesn't have a lot of options to play around with. Keep in mind too that it could be a legit health issue not being caused by the game, so I'd be cautious of that.

The motion sickness might be caused by the view model running at 30 fps regardless of how fast the game is running.

Thank you all for your suggestions, I tried reducing FOV and put everything to the lowest settings, smallest window, reduce the gamepad sensitivity. I'm so far recieving a slight headache but I'll report back if it doesn't seem to work after playing for a bit longer.

You have all my sympathy! This is actually the first first person game ever that *doesn't* give me motion sickness (I even get sick playing minecraft) I have FoV turned right up, and made sure head bobbing was turned off, and actually have graphics set to highest - you didn't mention head bobbing, have you made sure that is turned off?

I didn't remember that this game had headbob. Yeah that makes me motion sick faster than anything else, I always turn that off straight away.

I didnt have motion sickness but after playing for like 10 minutes my eye gets red af and after an hour it hurts i was addicted to the game so i played for 3 hours nonstop then a day after i also played 3 hours nonstop thinking my eye was normal now my eye is pretty red and it hurts a tiny bit when i use it a bit too much last time i played the game was a day ago so i think my eye will be good after a few more hours (i use my first eye at 80% and the second one at 20% so with my other eye i cant read or see details and everything is just blurry so that might be the reason why this is happening) this isnt the first time something like this happened when i play human fall flat my eye feels really dry so dry that it hurts.

I know its been a while but just wanted to report that the game also give me crazy motion sickness, light headache, and feeling like spinning, after a bit more than 1 hour of playing...

(it's terrible because I have phobia of vomitting so feeling nauseous is litterally the worst. I always forget and stop playing the game for multiple weeks/month, than forgot why I stopped playing the game since I like it a lot, start again, and experience this huge pain again.)

I'll try the tricks in this thread another day.

(btw, I play a lot of games, I love FPS genra, the only other game that gave me motion sickness this crazy this quick is like CS:Source or something, never remember the one, the old very blocky one. )
