Hey this is strange, its not free.

I see Slime Rancher is free on Xbox One. I saw that it was a new game as Jim Sterling just reviewed it and thought it was cute. So I downloaded it on Xbox. I thought that perhaps it was one of these fee to play games and that it would be free on PC as well but its not, its 13.00.

So now I'm curious why a brand new PC game would fre free on the Xbox? Is there a reason for this? Just wondering what happened there, not complaining as I will play it on the Xbox.

I mean it's not really new, it's just been released as the full version as it was in early access before. I'm fairly sure it's only free on Xbox with the gold thing as a promotion.

One needs "Xbox Gold" in order to play multiplayer games so it's not a choice to get xbox gold if you have xbox.

Well I'm happy to play this game. It's quite addicting and well made. Thanks to whomever made it free on Xbox.

Actually, it is a choice. What if you have games that aren't multiplayer? What if you dont want to play multiplayer? What if you dont want to pay an extra amount of money for a subscription?

Because Xbox req money to play multiplayer, ppl pitchfork Microsoft for it. They now give free gold games for those acct to keep forever to pasify them.

Xbox gold is cheap if u know where to look online. Average sales price is 35-45 with 30 as the lowest I've seen. U get around 12-24 games a year. If their good however is questionable.

Also Xbox pays them to put their game out for free with Xbox Gold, I believe get paid for x amount of licenses to be given out and then paid for more if needed.

So it's not as if Monomi Park are losing money by putting it on Xbox Gold for "free", atleast not if I'm understanding it correctly.
