I don't know about Quantum slimes specifically, but I know if slimes are fed regularly through the day there's less chance of them trying to get out for food. Slimes only kinda fight to get out when they are hungry and see that there's food near by and want some of it or they'll watch the rancher when the rancher is on the ranch, hoping the rancher will give them food. I'm sorry I can't help out with Quantums, I just haven't kept Quantums yet in my game. I think their abilities to make "copies" of themselves are just a distraction for predators, their "copies" aren't real slimes just projections they spawn randomly. That power is no different that the Booms exploding themselves, Rads having their green bubbles, Rocks rolling around, Phosphors flying, Tabbies bouncing, etc. It's just a thing they can do. I hope I helped!
I keep my Quantum largos in the grotto expansion to keep them away from other slimes just incase I get lost in the desert for a few days.
