Slime Rancher: The fast travel, map, and movement update?
Slime rancher at this point has quite a large world, I found myself getting lost in the new glass desert alone if I'm being honest. At first it's fun to get through a new area but after four and five times of seeing the SAME FREAKING ROCK it starts to become a little bit annoying. Also, having to traverse the same map OVER AND OVER again, becomes very tedious. Yes, you have teleporters, but they really don't help very much and take forever to make.

I'm proposing two suggestions here, a map, AND a fast travel to the beginning of areas you explore.
"But wouldn't that make teleporters useless?"
No, it wouldn't because you could still put them in specific places you want to travel to inside of an area rather than just the beginning.

Throughout the game, you eventually get a jetpack. I'm just gonna cut to the point here, it sucks. It's extremely clunky and boring. It allows you to go over a section of the map that should be closed by a slime or a slime gate with ease. We really should get more interesting, innovative, less broken movement options. Maybe not remove the jetpack, but nerf it and make it a bit nicer to play with.

Add things like, a double jump, maybe a small climbing ability, a charge jump a bit like the rocket jump in Mario Sunshine, ect. Something more interesting than simply holding in space to go a bit higher. Perhaps some sort of dash move that propells you forth in the air.

Anyway, what do you guys think? I think this would add a lot to the game and overall make it more enjoyable.

well a map is already coming post-1.0 (so people can finally stop complaining about it) as for the jetpack, yes you can go over most gates, but you get more than enough keys and you don't always have time in the day to go the long way over everything. i'm not entire sure what you mean for fast travel as the grotto and overgrowth already have natural warps leading close to the beginning of the areas. rare resources have been made much easier to obtain. and the glass desert is a desert. you're supposed to get lost at first. it's how you learn your way. definately open the gates in the desert if you havent already, and pop the tangle gordo. they're immensely helpful with finding your way home. the mosaic gordo also has a path behind it that leads straight to the tangle gordo's temple with a home warp under him. don't really have an opinion on the jetpack other than it seems fine to me.

I suppose I should've been more clear on fast travel. When I say "fast travel" I'm not talking about teleporters. I'm talking about bringing up a map and clicking a point on the map to go to that area. The teleporters are okay but most of them are only one way meaning you need to go backtrack to the previous area which becomes super tedious. And you shouldn't be able to go over the gates, because it makes the game look unpolished and incomplete. As for not having enough time in a day, I'm not sure what you mean there, as you can keep playing throughout the night with no repercussions. Getting lost in the desert for the first time is okay, but as I said, it's not the first time, it's going through multiple times without being able to find my way and it becomes annoying.

well i find it pretty helpful to have a "warp hub" or sorts- mainly to for making laps of my extractors- but it's generally not that hard to get back to your ranch from any area then warp to another area. i personally don't think the world is big enough to warrant fast travel. i know you at least can't enter the ruins without going through the gate as it has a barrier. it may have the same for other areas, but i haven't started a new file since 0.4 so idk. and i'm not sure how much you've explored the world, but there's a total of 10 sets of warp pads to be found in the game. (presumably 11 since butterscotch slime lamps exist) which i think is plenty to make your way around. for the not enough time in the day thing, if you're like me and have every plort being produced on your ranch with extractors to check every day, you don't have much time to go out exploring. every second counts. and the desert specifically is really tricky to get over the slime gates. they even encourage climbing with the jetpack with some very well hidden treasure pods. and i'm pretty good with learning my way around game worlds (not so much irl...) but hopefully even the basic map will prove helpful enough for you to learn your way around. there's already a top-down view of the whole area on i think chris's twitter(?) if you need it.
