Puddle Slime advice?
I'm not entirely sure how to care for these things, do i need to water them every day? How much do they need? Is there a limit to how many can share a pond? I have no idea.

You can have three in a pond without a slime toy and five with a slime toy. I recommend that you use the pond in the docks for them since you don't need to constantly refill it and it saves you a plot for something else

Noted, but do they need to be "fed" at all?

Without a toy, you can have 4 slimes in a pond.

No. They "drink" a bit of water from the pool, and then drop a plort.

I never had to refill a pool btw, they do refill themselves - albeit slowly. But other people apparently see refilling as required. This might be something that changed between game versions, or perhaps it depends on how fast you fish the water plorts out of the pool. Plort production will stop when more than 11 water plorts are in the pool, so I suppose the puddle slimes will then stop drinking until the plorts are collected, which gives the pond more time to refill.

Alright, good to know, thanks

I keep a few ponds in the dock area, four Puddle Slime per pond, no toy, they will play too crazy, bounce out and disappear, i fill the ponds back up every night with water from the natural pool there. I store the plorts in a silo til the market prices are tasty and sell them via a market link warp thingy.

I remember having 3 in the pool before the update that added the 7zee shop thing. I usually top it up every visit but the pond never goes dry. When the docks became available I immediately ditched it (because free pond!) so I can't help you there regarding how-many in a buy-pond before too-many.

I have 6 puddles and 4 toys in the docks, with the ducks split up to extreme corners of the pond. Haven't actually caught any running away and despawning. I tried 9, but they all flat out refused to produce plorts because too crowded, so there. I rake about 12 to 20 plorts every other day (depending on how often I visit the docks and RNG on sleep)

Also I run to the pond at the indigo quarry via the grotto's teleport, so 2 free ponds total. (although if you sleep often enough they actually reset the puddle slime numbers to 4 because world cleanup. haven't had any ducks I brought there despawning actually)
Had a warp store there as well so one slot freed from hauling plorts.

The only things you need to know about puddle slimes:

- They need a pond to live. You can build it or use the pond in the Docks (recommended since it's bigger and free).
- They don't need food. They only need a pond.
- You don't have to refill the pond. No maintenance.
- You can have 4 in a regular pond, 5 with a toy (rubber duck toy).
- Since the pond in the Docks is bigger than a regular pond you can have more than 5 there. However, you will need to make sure the slimes are split up by placing toys in the corners of the pond.
- Make sure they aren't blushing. If they are, that means that there are too many slimes around and they won't make plorts.
- Puddles largos are impossible to make. Puddle slimes won't eat plorts and other slimes won't eat puddle plorts either.

Does the duck effect stack?

No idea but I don't think so. I just use the toys to keep the slimes split up into small groups of 3-4.
