Corall:
cage with 5 rock tabby largos
cage with 5 honey tabby largos
cage with 5 rad tabby largos
cage with 5 boom tabby largos
coop with stony hens
coop with stony hens

Grotto:
cage with 5 quantum phosphor largos
garden with mint mangos
garden with cuberrys
silo
coop with stony hens (to help feed tabbys)
Wilderness:
silo
pond with 3 puddle
pond with 3 puddle
pond with 3 puddle
5 hunter largos free-ranging (not sure what type to splice them with yet)
I haven't found quantum slimes yet. I think they like mint mango but I'm not sure. I know phosphor like cuberrys.
I like silos in each area to store plorts and extra food. That's just my preference.
I do have the 20 largos in the corall and 6 of the 9 puddle slimes in the wilderness so far. I still have to get tiger slimes and figure out what to cross them with.
You don't need to ranch pink slimes. If you need pink plort you can walk outside and the first area has scads of pinks eating and pooping everywhere.
I also have a lot of stone hens and roostros just wandering around my corall. They don't breed as quickly as in a coop but they do help a little. I haven't had any major issues feeding 20 largos with 3 coops so far.
This might not be the best money-making setup, but it should give me (or anyone) a variety of plort to use or sell.
I place my 4 cages in the corall close to the grotto entrance, and my coop in the grotto is right at the entrance, so minimum travel time to feed the tabbys.
The tabbys and the quantum slimes will mean 5 cages you need to maintain. The wilderness is set up to be maintenance free - the hunters and puddles will be able to find food on their own.
When they aren't hungry they have a happy cat face (being tabby hybrids) so I probably conserve on chickens by feeding them more efficiently this way.
Tabby/Phosphoro-
as odd as a combination as this is it takes away the need to farm out the chickens (as meat is more time consuming then a farm) and uses the phosphoro cuberry instead
Honey/Boom-
This is already an easy setup and common one as well, Honey slimes eat the mint mangos replacing the chickens needed for the boom and very easy to maintain
Rad/Hunter-
This combination of slimes is especially helpful as you can use the oca oca plants to feed the slimes instead of the much more valued roostoros (note)- this is still helpful if you dont have a full built farm as the hunter slimes will now all be coated with the green rad sphere
Diamond/Rock
Diamond and Rock were meant to be, the dangeres of the diamond and rock were mixed into one cage making this better than other combonations. The favorite food for these 2 slimes are both veggies and is the only downfall to the combo. The diamond slimes eat the odd onion as to the rock slime eating the heartbeat which is far easier to farm.
Quantum/Pink?-
I found this combo to be strangley nice as the quantum slimes will leave you and vanish if they are not feed unlike any other slime making the pink slime nice as you can just feed them whatever you have extras of or have in your inventory. quantum slimes also by far have one of the hardest if not the hardest food type to use (Phase Lemons) which need as much attention as the slimes themselves and another fruit that you don't mind tossing away for the lemons
grotto: 2 silos, 2 oca oca plots, 1 corral of 6 rad/quantums
main area: 1 plot each of odd onions, carrots, cuberries, mint mangos, heart beets, 1 coop with no less than 2 each of roostros, stoney hens, and briar hens at any given time, 1 silo, and 1 empty farm plot i just use to top off my reserves whenever i use up some resources for gordos, range exchange, etc
lab: 1 corral each of crystal/hunters that get however many odd onions+carrots that make 20 veggies, rock/booms, honey/rads, and tabby/phosphor that each get a harvest of their favorite food per day- 6 largos per pen, and a corral of 50 pinks that get the carrot and pogo plots, as well as any excess food from the other plots as the harvests overlap.
my dock area currently only has my 5 puddle slimes and empty silos coming off of my 7ZRC newbuck grind.
i have a lot of silos cuz i like to have 100 of each non-extractor resource, so you can have even more slimes and farms if you don't care for doing that, as well as feeding them twice a day for max plort production. but i don't like the collectors filling up too fast so i have time to explore during the day and like to keep my pink plort production at its peak to keep up with my extractors that i have going every day. also up to 10 largos per pen is managable without getting too hectic if you wanna make sure there's always someone hungry for your food. also i have a warp from my lab where most of my slimes are that leads right in front of the plort market in the main area, and another that leads to the spot right before the ramp down to the docks to help streamline things a bit. i have other warps there too- my lab is kinda my warp hub; but those are for extractors and don't really help with plort production. but i keep my farms away from my slimes to make sure they don't get too rowdy inbetween feedings.
-RANCH-
2 corrals of 10 rock each.
2 corals of 10 tabby each.
2 stony coops
1 hen hen coop
1 silo
-GROTTO-
1 pond
2 corrals of 10 phosphor each.
1 silo
1 incinerator (for now)
-OVERGROWTH-
2 beet gardens
2 cuberry gardens
-LAB-
2 carrot gardens
2 pogo gardens
1 20 pink corral
From there I started making largos on both ranch and grotto trying to strike a food balance (boom rocks, honey tabbies, phosphor hunters).
Will probably start swapping carrots for ginger or pogos for mint mango as things go but for the moment I'm more concerned about building up stock for gordos than anything else.
i think you mean crystal... xD

Following that , my current set-up (will change it soon) :
A :
1,2 = food silo
3,4,5,6 = random slime coral
7,8 = plort silo (from E 1,2,3,4 and D 1,2,3,4)
B:
1,2,3,4 = silver parsnip
C:
1,3,4,5 = plort silo (every plort of the game 100unit perstorage)
2 = some rare food in a silo
D:
1,2,3,4 = 6x mosaic-tangle in each coral
5 = incinerator with fire slime
E:
1,2,3,4 = 6x mosaic-dervish slime in each coral
Btw : its MY set-up , not the BEST set-up.
If someone use my picture for plan his set-up , i recomande you using paint and coloring square like i've do here (not my current setup but its for show :

So. Yeah. Simple as that really. So I can harvest food and feed the slimes right there rather than running back and forth across the ranch.
not all over the place? well then my advive for an easy setup is not using any chicken. they are annoyingly hard to "grow"
Main area of the farm:
at the two plots next to the house
mosaic+tangle with silver carrots next to them (they can autofeed from half the the plot). - tangles can go at any place having a 2 plort area, just avoid two corrals next to eahc other, otherwise they can grab the plorts out of other coralls.
then the big 4 plots:
derwish+pink with a Spikey pear next to it
Honey and hunter with a mint next to it
Crystal and phosphor with a cuberry next to it.
The 2 plots towards the grass area:
tabby and rock with heartroots next to them
Cave:
left Fireslime
right Waterpond (since it's now infinite)
the last empty one for whatever you wanna burn to feed the fireslime. (preferably pogofruit, since they grow the largest numbers)
lower 2 areas
rad and boom slime with ocaoca field next to it.
now whats missing is the quantum slime, I merged them with pinks and let them freeroam on the grass area which they never leave and then they gonna eat all naturally growing chicken, veggies and fruits.
However you can merge them with any other slime eating veggies or fruits and use the plots there to plant these (but no scarecrow). if youw ant you cna also make a corral with them encaged you then have to feed them but cna autocollect the plorts.
This all is an easy to manage setup since favourite food is always exactly next to the slimes and there are no long ways to walk. And nothing actually goes wrong if you put like 10 largos in them. Also, no chicken required AND you still have 4 collars and the pond left at the harbor as well as 5 collars left at the laboratory for whatever you like to do. So plenty of room for coming updates and their slimes. And cosntantly feeding the slimes is still enough to ruin market prices.
I do, but a free roaming chicken setup requires no tangles near.
