You need to keep Quantums fed and they will be fine.
I keep only 1 Quantum Slime. I made it a Tabby Hybrid. It is corraled in the grotto. Chickens do not rot like fruits or veggies, so I can keep my corral stocked with chickens. This makes sure the Quantum Tabby never goes hungry while I explore.
Tbh I've had more problems with boom largos shooting plorts halfway across my ranch. Not sure if that's intentional or not, but they can launch them to the entrance to the Overgrowth all the way from their corral on the opposite side.
on the other hand, quantum slimes really are best pink or hunter with chickens as food.
