Can't download the game?

so i saw this game was on sale and took the chance to finally buy it (i've wanted to try it out for a while now), then i left the game downloading and stuff; the usual.

when i checked back after a bit, i realized the download was stuck at around 50MB. i checked and it said the download was scheduled to about 5 minutes after that moment. trying to resume the download would simply set it to scheduled again, instantly.
so i wait, and when the scheduled time arrives... it downloads for one second and then reschedules itself to 5 minutes after that time.
i've already tried deleting the game's local files, resetting my wifi connection and deleting the download cache (and different combinations of the three), to no avail.
clicking the game's big "PLAY" button in my downloads page gives me a "corrupted download" error, which links me to a support page that tells me to do the exact same things i've already done. the download itself is still scheduled though, it doesn't just cancel itself or anything.

i know this might be considered a general steam problem, but this is the ONLY game that's ever given me that problem. i've updated like three games earlier today and none of those gave me any trouble whatsoever.
i REALLY want to be able to play this game...

I didn't have a problem downloading it. It's 236.8 mb initiated and completed. Try right clicking the game in your library and click properties local files verify integrity of game files. That usually fixes it.

i... can't really verify something i can't even download, can i?
i haven't been able to play the game at all because i can't finish the initial download that i need to even have the game files.
i've reset the download again a few times after posting this... now it's stuck on 2mb

EDIT: apparently restarting my pc fixed the problem and now the game downloaded properly...
i have no idea why, but at least the problem is solved i guess

Bump! Mine is also stuck at 51MB but I restarted the PC, reinstalled Steam, restarted the download, nothing! I tried verifying the 51MB I had and it didn't change anything.

Have you tried changing the download region in Steam's settings? There's also a clear download cache option in the same place that may help.
