Wow rude
I did everything that should make it not teleport out of the range. I put max food in the feeder, i got the music box etc etc but everytime I come back he is out of the coop and all the food i spread out over the coop and rotten. The feeders are broken too.
Regardless of the tone of the message, I would agree that free roaming is the way to go for Quantum slimes. They are hard to keep in a corral, so ditch the corral and keep them in a way that allows them to teleport to their heart's content. I had 50+ quantum phosphor largos in the grotto at one point - lots of quantum plorts each day. And even in the unlikely case that one of them _did_ find a way out, the phosphor element would ensure that it couldn't stay around for long.
There's a good solution for everything in Slime Rancher (usually several), you just have to find them. :)
EDIT:::
So I set it up and it works pretty nice. In the Grotto, I have 4 ponds, and the plot just under the ramp (second to the left when you enter from the Ranch) has a Cuberry Tree growing at all times, with the upgraded soil and sprinklers but no scareslime for obvious reasons. I put the tree in that plot because it is sort of nestled in a corner away from the exits, and it's the Phosphor favorite (and thus, Quantum Phosphor Largo's easier favorite).
Each pond has 2-3 Puddle Slimes - 3 for the two plots near the entrance, and 2 in the other two plots on the lower level since the Quantum Largos like to swim with them on occasion, and mostly hang out on the lower level themselves (don't want them interfering with Puddle Plort Production) - each with a Toy Duck. There are 8 Quantum/Phosphor Largos flying around in there hanging around the Cubery Tree mostly. I tossed a couple of Puzzle Cubes and Night Lights near the tree as well, to help keep them over there. Works pretty much flawlessly, and the tree shedding its own fruit acts like a big auto feeder, basically a big Corral that produces 3 types of plorts (Puddle, Phosphor and Quantum) nice an consistently with no danger of Tarr creation.
None have escaped, but if they do just keep some Quantum plorts stocked somewhere and grab some Phosphors some random night and toss them in the Grotto, toss a few Quantum plorts at them and good to go again.
Now I'm just decorating the upgraded Grotto with all the Echos I can fund.
Oh and if you don't like having a tree growing in a cave for realism or something (no sunlight), consider the Phase Lemon tree. It's easy to maintain with all the free Pogofruit in the Overgrowth to toss at it, and since the description of the Quantum Slimes implies them sort of existing in two realities before 'teleporting', then act like the Lemon tree half exists in the cave and half somewhere there is sun. And it's Quantum's favorite fruit anyway. Bam.
Oh. And I don't have anything next to them so they don't get the nerve to eat anything.
I really don't know which one is the actual reason for them to stay still, but they do.
I dumped a a bunch of them in the cave with some phospher slimes and just put fruit gardens everywhere. They feed themselves so all i have to do is go there every now and then to collect the plorts. eventually ill put a market link and a refinery link in there and ill be all set.
This does mostly rule out quantum slimes until you raise 7zee rewards club high enough to unlock the toy shop, though, unless you free-range them. There's a few free toys lying around if you manage to bring them all the way to the ranch, though.
I do admit my quantum slimes aren't adjacent to a food plot, though. I don't know if they'd teleport out anyway to get to nearby food, kinda like how tangle slimes can grab food halfway into the adjacent plots. They aren't teleporting for food several plots away, though.
Music boxes are really underrated. I personally love them
