Saving Error

Hi, I bought this game a few hours ago, but after a few minutes of playing it randomly comes up with the following error message: "An unknown error prevented writing the save file: [path to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SlimeRancher\(currentdate)_Game1]

Interestingly, I can save when I quit so I think it's an autosave issue. However, after this pops up I have no choice but to quit to the main menu. The other option is "retry" which doesn't work. I have tried to play in safe mode, reinstall the game, verify the game files, restart my computer, move the folder to a different location (HDD) but all to no avail. Can someone tell me what the solution for this problem may be? I can't really play this way right now.

This game have problem with saving and even save corruption since the beginning. You will not get an answer here nor on the official forum, most all topic save related stay with no answer.
Have you try launching in admin mode ? Apart from that I have no idea as I too have problem with save (they get corrupted, forcing me to do manual backup often).

My speculation is that the game is experiencing an access / permission issue when attempting to autosave. Three generic troubleshooting steps:

1.) Navigate to Your SteamLibrary Folder\steamapps\common\SlimeRancher\ in Windows Explorer. Verify that your Windows account has permission to read/write to the directory (try to move or copy something to this folder).

2.) in \SteamApps\common\Slime Rancher\, right click SlimeRancher.exe and select Properties. Open the Compatibility tab and check the box for "Run this program as an administrator".

3.) Temporarily disable any antivirus software to verify it is not interferring.

EDIT: I'd also verify that you are only using english alphanumeric folder names in the path and that your Windows language/region is set to english. Certain programs can have issues parsing directory names that contain unicode characters.

Thanks for the replies. I made a completely new game (new save slot) and now it seems to save correctly (haven't had it happen since). Still don't know what the issue was with this save, but ultimately I'm glad I only had an initial negative experience.
