How often do slimes need to eat?

So, I'm considering restructuring my entire farm. I currently have one garden per corral and without quality of life upgrades that make managing farms etc easier, its a pain in the face to deal with that amount of stuff. I'm considering downsizing my garden operations and stopping using the auto-feeders as i tend to find piles of food in most of my corrals.

Is one piece of food per day enough to keep slimes happy if I throw a toy in their pen too?

I think slimes will be happy getting feed twice a day. You know in the mornings and the evenings. Toys will help keep them calm. Slimes do make a hungry face when they are really hungry & they'll even jump in your direction. They know the rancher feeds them so that's why they jump towards you when they are hungry. Their hungry face is the same on all slimes. with sad eyes & a drool like drop hanging from their open frowning mouths. It depends on how many slimes you have to feed, and if it's not their favorite food, they can eat some more. I hope I helped you :)

They seem to need about 3-4 food per day.

edit: I've timed a single slime at 6 hours between feedings, as the fastest possible once it's fully fed. But it seems like they eat more like 3 times per day if left on their own with an autofeeder. I.e., the feeder set to fast dispenses 6 food every 3 hours, which should fully feed 12 slimes. But even if I put 13 in a corral and sit there and shuffle them around all day, they don't eat all 48 of the food that the dispenser gives them, and I'm left with about 8+ food items on the ground at the end of 24 hours. Just finished a 5 day challenge with 13 largos per corral, and they definitely seemed to only be eating about 3 each per day, maybe even slightly less. So it seems like you probably need 16+ slimes in a corral to use the autofeeder set to fast.

So, I rearranged my ranch and i've now got 12 corrals in total, 6 with Rad/Hunters and 6 with Honey/Crystals. I've also got 10 farms on the go, 6 with Oca Oca (those Rad/Hunters seem to get hungry faster than the others) and 4 with Mint Mangos. Seems to be working though the Rad/Hunters still get a bit angry in the morning. I have 4 plots left which I currently have 3 silos and a pond in (I may move those puddle slimes to the docks though). Now if only I had a more efficient way of transporting all these damned plorts xD I usually leave the corrals til they're full and siphon off the top 20 into the silos, but when the sale prices hit levels I want to sale, it takes me a full day to sell my stock of those plorts xD
