Tips on how to optimise your farm to maximise profits!

Above is the video link to give you a walkthrough of my ranch.

P.S. I remade the video to include the dock.

That seems to work well enough for you looking at your Newbuck count, but it's not all about having the most expensive plorts. It's important to have a good variety of slimes. If you have too many of the same slimes producing slimes at max output, you give the market no time to build back up after a huge sell. I personally like to keep no more than one of each slime type on my range (aside from rads cuz my 50 pinks leave no type for my quantums to pair up with so they get rad) so I can sell the less valueable plorts while the tier 3 ones build up. I have 4 silos and by the time I fill all of those up, my tier 3 plorts are around 100+ in the market. Though sometimes it takes a bit longer than I'd like and I end up making a 5th silo and using spare warp depots around my ranch. And like you described, I prefer to keep seperate areas for my extractos with all the warps to their areas together so I can keep their timers synced up. When I eventually fill up on their exclusive resources, I'll just keep the game areas but swap which extractors are there. But ya know, to each their own. Also, you forgot to show your dock area.

I fully agree with what you said haha! And yes I forgot the dock area because I redid the videos way too many times that I forgot what I have shown and what I missed haha...

Well the dock I had 2 cuberry trees and quantum-phosphor largos which I stocked up the quantum plorts in my silos.

As for the plort market, I realised the fluctuation of prices is a critical point for me since I sell large quantities. It is kinda like selling a lot for a lower price than storing a lot when the season is good... I feel that it is more productive to have corrals/gardens instead of tons of silos.

Anyway this is not like a perfect build or anything, I just want to show how people can optimise their ranch.

I'm constantly trying to find the perfect build. I already have plans for 0.6, but they may change depending on if/how soon we get another ranch expansion. Slime Rancher is more of an efficiency simulator than anything else to me lol.

to maximez to the full efficency... you'll want to free range hybrid largos!!! theres 5 areas and 10 types of slime that can become up to 5 largos, this utilizes all types of plorts in game as every slime type is included... thats 1 hybrid largo for each area!
and in each area you basically put up 4 farms!
mix all meat eaters with fruit eaters! this removes chicken farming
mix annoying veggie/fruit eaters like the quantom and crystal with easy to farm slime food slimes!

and some what match the number of largos to its the food count produced by each farm... for example in the dock area i have 4 oca oca farms.. each produces 15 food ... that is 60 food per cycle produced... i have 30 quantum rads largos!!! you dont want to put 60 larges to match the 60 food cause its crowed and some may not get to the food so i usually put 30 to 45 largos! they all stay feed and theres so much plorts i never even bother to pick em up anymore! it just way too omany... xD

on my main range i put pink tabby largos!!! despite 5 largo hybrids that utilize all plorts... you'll be force to mix on type with the pink.. hence no double plorts! butt the main ranch is large enough to have to still place 4 to 6 pogo fruit trees... i choose pogo cause it produce 20 food and dealing with pink slime that have no favorite food, you'll want as much food to make up for the lack of not producing double plorts T-T

basically each area you make 4 farms! which still leaves room for puddle slime ponds in the science lab, grotto, the docks and the main ranch!!!

you'll be rolling in million of neubuck in no time... xD i have 130hrs in this and i swear i spent a good 30 hours of doing literally nothing butt effeciency building!!!

until a free-range plort collector of some sort is implemented, I can't see free ranging as a good method of gaining money. It's far too unorganized for me and will get annoying quick to constantly have to restock slimes that decide to take a dip in the slime sea, and have the ones that stay constantly get stuck to the end of my vacpack when trying to collect plorts. I only free range slimes as an aesthetic if I don't otherwise need an area. I need to be able to collect all my plorts for slime science to keep them topped of in my refinery at all times and can't go exploring if I'm taking 10 times as long collecting their plorts than if I was just gathering them from a plort collector. Besides, the available different largo combos without repearing will easily outgrow the number of areas with 0.6 on its way.
