Did he say the 1920x1080 setting isn't actually 1080p? Is he having the same issue as Kotaku where changing resolution causes you to lose resolution options? What?
I thought that was Kotaku, but can no longer find it in Kotaku's article.
They had their native resolution working, but the menu claimed it was lower, sub 1080p. After trying to fix it, they got stuck at a lower resolution.
I would not dispute that the 2006 build might be better. Crap like that resolution bug is pretty ridiculous.
The first game already came to PC, when it released on every other platform... 10 years ago... That version is still perfectly functional today, with few if any bugs, at a relatively decent price, and with full modern OS and controller support. Literally the only thing you get with this version is Steam achievements.
They're charging you $40...

and they didn't even bother to QA their product to check all the other things they broke...
You do realize that the orginal retail version was published by Activision, right?
