Costumes and Upgrades

So I'm having none of the issues or problems that most of the reviewers have, but I can't seem to change my costume at the access points. All of the controls work perfectly otherwise, but for some reason selecting a different costume isn't working.

This happens to me every once in a while, more often when I click outside of the window (I play on multiple monitors and often Alt+Tab to change music/podcasts). I have been able to fix it by clicking on the menu with my mouse and then switching to my controller. Alternatively, restart the game.
