A button issue for Controllers
I have found that if the mouse cursor shows up on screen during the game and you are using a controller then you won't be able to use the A button on the controller to equip items, change outfits or spend skill points.

Unless you move the mouse cursor inside the green menu box where your Powers, Outfit, Gear and Stats are listed.

The screenshot doesn't show the mouse cursor for some reason but I hope it helps those who might not understand what I'm talking about.

This is hopefully a temporary thing and will get patched as there is no excuse for something like this to slip through Q&A.

I'm using a wireless Xbox One Elite controller which seems to not correspond to the button mappings shown onscreen or in the Controller menu (which shows an Xbox 360 controller).

From what I can work out the game uses the following mappings:

A = X
B = B (at least that one works as shown, well done, developers!)
X = Y
Y = A
RB/LB = These do not appear to work so I cannot use LB to block for example
RT/LT = Not sure these are working either.
Menu/Start = R3 (click down on the right analogue stick)

Seems to me that the developers took the lazy route and only supported the Xbox 360 controller. The Xbox One controller seems to work a little differently in Windows, despite the fact that it looks and acts like it should be the same as the Xbox 360 controller, and I think this is what the issue is. For example, I downloaded the Yooka-Laylee Toybox last night and initially the game wasn't working properly with the Xbox One controller until I paused the game and enabled the Win 10/Xbox One controller option.

This game needs patching to support the Xbox One controller; there's no excuse not to given that it is the officially endorsed controller by Microsoft for Windows 10 and is rapidly replacing the Xbox 360 controller as the standard game controller of choice for Windows.

Button Maps are the same on the 360 Controller. The games fault.

The workaround I've been using to get the A button to work again is switch the control settings to keyboard, back out so it applies, then change it back to controller. This works for only a limited time.

Y also doesn't work.

Your workaround sounds like it'll be a lot easier.

The recent patch I believe fixes wireless controller issues, but not being able to use the A button when the mouse cursor is on the screen is still an issue.

I thought the patch was supposed to fix this, but I'm using a wired (with a micro usb cord) Xbox One controller and seeing the weird mappings ingame too. Is it still not fixed/is it supposed to be getting fixed?

Just tried 360 wired and it appears to work fine
