Those files just [In theory if they're the right ones] just retexture the UI so that it shows the proper controller buttons. Not perfect mind you.
this issue on the NEW MUA definately needs to be fixed. soo many of us have a xbox 360 gamepad and use Win 7 x64. the devs totally dropped the ball!
What? People without proper computer skill/knowledge should not post a "fix". So it's my driver you say? Then why does it work with every other game I own? Just not MUA? Hmmm.. BRILLANT!
To fix that I found that if you press select, you can equip items and spend skill points, then the A button should work fine when using the SHIELD access point for changing outfits, equiping items and spending skill points.
Hopefully there will be a patch to fix everyone's control issues.
You are right, this is not a driver issue per se, but neither its that the game has bad hardcoded buttons.
The problem is the way it detects the xinput controllers, apparently, it not only reads the input from the api, but also uses something reported from the driver. Updating the driver wont do anything since, in the cumulative Windows 10 update KB3140743 the way xbox one controller behave was changed. The most recent driver for xbox one controllers, wired or wireless, behaves in a different way. Actually what some users are recommending as update the drivers, is actually to downgrade them, but it only works for the xbox one controller via wire. And i dont know about the wireless 360, since i dont own one.
The difference in the behaviour is this:
The Triggers instead of being a shared Z axis, now are Z axis and rotation Z axis.
I'll make a thread trying to explain what the issue is.
this is an 8 year topic from a another site, this is a problem from the original version, they never fixed it.
