Is free, and is an all around improvement over the regular game... and as much as I hate to say it... save yourself some money and just get the protectors instead.

Retroism simply ports games and puts them on steam, in all of their releases they dont seem to ever add anything like Trading cards or achivements or offer any support/patches for people having issues. If they took the time to help the people who have issues and added some extra functionality Id say go ahead and buy it, but intill that time dont bother.

the origonal devs for Warlords Battlecry 3 released the source code to the game a long time ago and with a bit of digging you could use it yourself if you wanted, but The Protectors mod is pretty well done, preserves the Warlords Battlecry experience and solves several issues I had with the game, they also have a forum where you can report bugs, make suggestions and talk with other players.

I second the Protectors Mod......I have the original WBC3 and i also bought it on GoG i later found out about the mod and it is MUCH IMPROVED GAMEPLAY. It comes with the original campaign and also a totally new one with different chapters so do yourself a favor

Or, you can add tpc mod folder OVER your wbc3 folder, then rename the exe to the original game exe, then you can still appear as "ingame"

You need to start it in windows xp - compatibility mode, at least that's what solved it for me when I couldn't start it on windows 7.

Well it wont even let me open the little sht, Same Error every time looked it up they told me the fix....nothing happned still got the same error. tho am terrible with PC"s it might just be me since i have no fcking idea what exe and other sht means at all xD

I tried this mod. It is better than the original game. I recommend to get it instead of the balance-broken steam version.

Ironman mode still doesn't work on windows other than xp, buuuuuut you have good alternatives (the reset to level 1 sounds cool)

ANYHOE you have to use a cheat to get pass the very first level of the normal campaign (type iamawinner in the chat)

this is not a mod, you have to empty the contents of your WBC3 folder, rename the protectors exe to the one of the original game (if you want it to show you as "in-game warlords battlecry 3")

0.8.6 of The Protectors fixes the issue where you can't pass the first mission of the original campaign. It also fixes Ironmen heroes on modern systems.

next problem though: installed the latest version (0.8.6) got it to run, but now i can't lvl-up my hero. Checked forums, found the hotfix and downloaded it. Now i don't know what to do next. do i have to insert the hotfix into the game files, or is it enough to just download it? And will the hot fix allow me to retro-actively level heroes created before i downloaded it?
