Does the error say that it's caused by Razer Synapse? Please disable the LED plugin then because we are still waiting for Razer to fix this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/2944746708993180912/
If this is not it, please create a thread here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/1/ and perhaps you can include the error message you are getting.
The Workshop abuse has been turning into quite a significant issue and therefore a limit like this is urgently needed. These limits should cover 99% of legitimate wallpapers and for anyone else, as it has been mentioned before, we can disable the limitation if they have an upload where they specifically want to share a higher quality video.
Launches and seems to work fine still, but anyways.
That's unusual, turn off Wallpaper Engine manually by right-clicking on the tray icon and selecting "Quit". Then check Windows Task manager and look for any of these .exe files and terminate them:
wallpaper32.exe
wallpaper64.exe
launcher.exe
webwallpaper32.exe
ui32.exe
If you cannot solve it, please create a thread on our help forum, we cannot provide proper support in the update news, thanks.
Yea, for some reason none of the processes were showing up in task manager, I deleted the applications (after restarting pc, because it said files were in use), bin, and redistribution folders and redownloaded through steam.
I don't like the size limitation, as a lot of high quality video wallpapers will be lost (
Thank you for this update, however I noticed something. I usually hide/reveal effect layers while working on an other effect's layer brush to see how the effects blend together, I do that very frequently, now the brush force closes itself when trying to do that, is there any alternate method with the new update?
It looks like your videos are smaller than 2 GB and the limitation for videos is 2 GB.
You can still hide the other effects before editing a texture, you just can't do that while the brush menu is open. It's being closed because some people were confused about how this editing state is not actually saving the texture. It would probably be worth still having some other solution like a button in the brush tools to isolate the effect temporarily, meaning all others get hidden while that is enabled.
No pressure though, already adapting to this change.
Thanks,
@Biohazard
I still think having a button to quickly isolate the effect you're editing right in the brush menu would be nicer though, that's more streamlined than having to go back to the renderable menu and disabling several other effects once by one. Of course in some situations you may only want to remove certain effects but not others (like shake) so for that case being able to hide effects individually is still superior.
In any case we'll look into adding a button for this or perhaps disabling this restriction again for now to see if people are still confused about how the brush tool saves/is closed or not. Perhaps it's not even an issue anymore like I mentioned.
