A lot of western users don't know what MMD is and think it's the same as anime and this filter overlay combines these filters. I can't blame them because I didn't even know about MMD before it was uploaded here.

The MMD tag didn't exist in the beginning and MMD videos got tagged as CGI, so removing the MMD tag and expecting users to tag it as anime is also not a solution.

This is almost a cultural difference and we somehow have to make both things work in one application and that's why a top level filter option like this is needed. The other genre tags are not as ambiguous and don't need this.

this is useful only to a small minority of people that
- actively dislike like anime or anime style art
- can't be arsed to learn how to use the already perfectly adequate search filter, a feature that has been around forever, basically

and the only reason it's gotten added is because that minority of people are vocal enough to complain to the developer of Wallpaper Engine about it

imagine being so angry about accidentally seeing some anime art that you go complain to developer of wallpaper engine that the users of wallpaper engine primarily make anime wallpapers
