Would it be possible to add a filter or a category for AI wallpapers?
So basically I'm just wondering if it could be added because theres a lot of AI ♥♥♥♥ on Wallpaper engine now, and it sucks because it'll look good until you install it and see all the smudgeyness of the AI grossness, and then have to unsubscribe to it, so i think there should be a filter for AI generated "art" so that it can be avoided if you'd like it to be.

even if steam would add it, it would still be up to the user to use that tag, see, we can only use ONE tag, and you do not tag your art / work by who made it but by what it represent

if you dont want to see ai wallpapers you should stick with the "approved" tag

It wouldn't be something for Steam to add because steam doesn't own Wallpaper Engine, and steam does require that games that use AI disclose it, for instance check the page for Liars Bar or any other game that uses AI, like it couldn't be difficult to add a box to check for something you upload to Wallpaper Engine being AI, when you upload a wallpaper you have to mark whether its NSFW or if its got gore in it, so just add a thing to check if its AI or not, and sticking to approved is kinda dumb because then it also filters out like actual artists that might not be as prominent on the approved page

⬆️ If it was that easy to add, don't you think the developers would've added it long ago?

As Capt.Luke said it's not up to the developers to add an extra tag, and something similar to this has already been discussed years ago (about multiple tags and ratings). Things might have changed, but who knows.
I doubt that some sort of "AI scanner" will ever be implemented as it would be easy to bypass, but hey, maybe one day it's going to exist.
As of now, you should ask the creators to add "AI" in their titles, or descriptions, instead of asking the developers for something out of their control.

Where did I say I wanted an AI Scanner? I mean like a box the uploader would check to say AI or not AI, thats it thats the whole thing, and then you add a user thing to not show AI stuff, they already have the thing you check the first time you open the workshop that says Show Anime/Hide Anime lol

Thought that you meant that you wanted an automated system to check for it, my bad.

What makes you think that people will use that extra checkbox to tag their ai generated waifus? That's the reason why, even if they were able to add a feature like this, it wouldn't solve the ai slop problem. Steam cannot check automatically if it's ai or not, BUT it can check if it's a NSFW content. Valve needs to do something about this, and the users who share in the workshop, NOT the WE's developers.
Do this if you want to hide the creators who mostly use AI art, but mind you that in the list there's a lot of good animators.

1. The filtering function can only be successfully added by developers after Steam adds it first. Since the Steam Workshop itself doesn't have this feature, the software can't add it either. The wallpaper data is stored in the Steam Workshop, not on the Wallpaper Engine server.
2. If you're a wallpaper creator and are aware that many people dislike AI, when you're about to release a wallpaper, would you choose to use the AI tag for release?
3. Many images are so sophisticated that it's impossible for the naked eye to tell if they're AI - generated. Do you expect a program to identify whether it's AI - generated?
I also dislike AI, but this function of adding tags is simply impossible to implement. Such an operation is like taking off your pants to fart, completely redundant.
