you have othere possibilities
you could make 1 wallpaper without the clock and 1 with the clock and then set hotkeys on those 2 wallpapers
or
you could add a button on the wallpaper that you can click that will show/hide the clock when you click it, that is relatively easy to do with scene script and there is probably already one on the workshop for it
or
you could setup a user proprietie check box to show/hide the clock but that would require you to open the software and go click on tha check box

Could also create a button within the wallpaper that could toggle it, but that would require some coding/scenescript knowledge.
