Creating live wall papers with just Javascript and p5.js?

Hello, I want to learn more about making wallpapers in wallpaper engine. But, I would like to create in just p5.js or something without using the wall paper engine scene editor. When you upload the index.html will it maintain the same capabilities? Like if I wanted a wall paper that changes depending on the time of day, like the clock UI's some have would that be possible? I've heard of scenescript, but is scenescript built in to the scene editor or is it just like a library I can import into any project?
