LED Effects Overriding Game Key Mapping
For the purposes of this post my setup is a combination of Wallpaper Engine and Corsair iCue lighting. With LED effects enabled for any given wallpaper, it used to be the case that if I engaged a game with a custom keyboard lighting setup, iCue would override Wallpaper Engine with the game running and present on screen. It now seems to be the case that with LED effects engaged Wallpaper Engine is overriding Corsair iCue's ability to change the keyboard lighting. This only happens with LED effects enabled, otherwise the lighting changes back and forth as expected. Is this a Wallpaper Engine setting I'm overlooking or is there a known/unknown issue with the integration between these programs when LED effects is engaged?

We have not touched anything iCUE related in the past couple of major updates, so I think the behavior should still be the same unless Corsair has changed anything with any recent iCUE update. Wallpaper Engine does request "Exclusive Mode" for iCUE for technical reasons, but this has been the case from day 1. If you are on a single-monitor setup, you could try changing the "Other application fullscreen" option to "Stop (free memory)" in the "Performance" tab of the Wallpaper Engine settings. That should free up the iCUE connection and revert back to the default iCUE lighting and allow other apps to take full control.

Cheers for your response Tim! I had tried that option as a test, though I'm on a dual monitor setup, but honestly ultimately this was as much a heads up that I'd found this to be happening and is more an unfortunate side effect which I just wanted to highlight than a deal breaker since it seems to have been something which has emerged since I first grabbed Wallpaper Engine. I'm pretty certain the LED effect used to be overridden okay by the game mapping before some point in time? I think it may still be unresponsive although there has been an iCue update recently (on the off chance that it was something they broke) and haven't tried this feature again since.

It has been a while and I have not had any similar complaints from other users in the meantime, so I am not sure if a Corsair update really changed anything recently - I would certainly expect more of an outcry if that was the case. Can you maybe try and just do a clean reinstallation of your Corsair software suite while Wallpaper Engine is fully turned off? It sounds crazy but in the past this has helped with all sorts of random iCUE issues, so it might be worth a shot just because the issue does not seem to have come up with other users and the iCUE user base is overall pretty large.
