Wallpapers going double speed
I recently noticed that my wallpapers are all playing at what seems like double speed. I recently got a new monitor with twice the resolution, but I also recently updated the wallpaper engine app, so one of those 2 is probably causing it. I can't find any setting related to speed in the general options. The problem is both with the 32 and 64bit version of the app. http://stuff.digicrap.com/info.txt

Anyone any idea what's wrong?

PS I tried mailing support but no reaction (mailed 10 days ago)

Hi, it looks like you have a lot of web wallpapers in your playlist and perhaps they're not scripted properly. Your monitor has a really high refresh rate (240 Hz) so if a web wallpaper isn't correctly made it could change its speed based on the FPS. The FPS slider in the settings doesn't affect this, unless the web wallpaper was scripted to scale with it too, this is up to the creator.

Do you have this problem with any scene or video type wallpapers? If you have the issue with any of the scene stock wallpapers like "Neon Sunset" then it's probably something else, the issue I mentioned would really only affect web wallpapers depending on how they've been scripted.

I just checked: Neon Sunset goes it's regular slow and relaxed speed indeed. So it is indeed related to the refresh rate? Well at least now I know, and too bad there's nothing that could be done (well, lowering the refresh rate I suppose).
I just realized I could actually check by lowering the refresh rate and indeed, on 120hz they go their normal speed again. I guess I'll just have to live with some hyper wall papers :D

Thank you for the support!

The root cause of the issue is basically in the wallpapers themselves since web-based wallpapers are custom-programmed. The authors of the wallpapers that you are having issues with would need to fix their code so that it does not go faster when the refresh rate increases. This was commonly overlooked as high-refresh rate screens were rather rare just a few years ago and they are just now getting more common.
