I also experience black screen on screensaver. Mouse is responsive, but other than that, nothing works, even task manager. I had to reset. Screensaver was good 1/8 attempts.
May have something to do with the audio, wild assumption
Figured I'd give this bug report here while it's already being investigated, if it is a bug and not a technical limitation
This should also be fixed on the beta already - it was at first not intended to load the same wallpaper and it only mirrored the "configuration". But the way the option is worded, it would make sense to mirror the currently active wallpaper too, yeah, so we changed this.
I sent you this link before but for everyone else both issues should be fixed on the beta here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/350544272219415004/ Please try it and let us know if there's still an issue like this though.
Screensaver now launches the correct wallpaper, although it starts from the beginning (If it's like a video, doesn't matter too much)
Audio overlapping still happens. Just to make sure, is this a behavior that takes place naturally, or is there an option to enable it?
That's not something we will be able to change I'm afraid because we are running the screensaver completely separately from the program so it's also possible to use the screensaver without wallpapers. Skipping ahead in the video would be necessary, but that often leads to video artifacts caused by issues in the graphics driver, which we can't resolve merely through Wallpaper Engine.
Thanks, that's unfortunate. I'll take another look at this but right now there is no easy way to tell what's going on on your system, maybe we'll have to add something to help figure out why it's not working exactly.
Could you share a link to the wallpaper that you are testing this with to make sure we are not missing something obvious?
Just as a ping, but if you continue to have the sound-related issue, please let us know what screensavers and wallpapers you are using.
Please run our scan tool and share the log file it creates as outlined here so we have more infos about your setup:
https://help.wallpaperengine.io/en/debug/scantool.html
1. Set "Other application fullscreen" to "Stop (free memory)" in the Wallpaper Engine Performance settings.
2. Configure Avast to ignore the wallpaper_engine directory, it is currently injecting itself into Wallpaper Engine which can cause significant slow-downs.
3. Set anti-aliasing to 0, it will not make a visible difference for your wallpapers but can result in a performance boost.
Other than that, try using a different wallpaper as a screensaver, maybe there is something particular about it which is causing these performance issues. It could also be that maybe your machine switches over to your integrated graphics card for the screensaver, I would need to investigate this further.
