Wallpaper Keeps disappearing at random times!!!!!!!!

After the recent windows 11 update my wallpaper just keeps disappearing at random times, and when I try to re-apply wallpaper it doesn't work. Wallpaper Engine released an update to which I thought would be a fix, but it still keeps happening. ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX???

I can confirm it: After Windows Update 22H 22621.2361, the background often disappears after starting a fullscreen application such as games. Restarting Wallpaper Engine or changing the background does not help. The only thing that helps is either logging Windows off and on again or restarting and, oddly enough, right-clicking on the desktop to activate show icons in the view menu, which usually restores the background.

New details. WallpaperEngine begins to work if I turn off HDR support. After turning on the HDR, the WE continues to work, but I’ll see how much it will work and send new information later.

I can, also confirm that I have issue after updating windows. I believe there should be a new update of wallpaper engine because this issue is ongoing, and it will continue to do this until a new release with wallpaper engine with bug fixes are fixed.

I updated to 2.3.
26. The Windows version is 23H2 22631.2338, but there is still only music but no picture, and I have to turn HDR on again to get the effect.

Hi, have disabled desktop icons current non insider win 11 build and am still getting this even with the new update. right clicking, showing icons fixes the issue.

For me, show icon doesn't fix the issue, but disabling HDR and re-enabling it fixes it. Until next time the computer goes into sleep it disappears again.

23H2 is currently not supported by us since it is still undergoing changes by Microsoft. If you would like to use Wallpaper Engine, please switch back to a stable release of Windows.

Yes, Microsoft changed some behavior under the hood which hides Wallpaper Engine when the icons are turned off through that specific functionality. Did this our fix solve the issue on your system or not?

The latest (non-beta) version of Wallpaper Engine is now working with 22H2 22621.2361. I don't know if you care to upgrade or not, but they fixed the 22H2 issue that occurred due to this update. They still haven't fixed the issues in 23H2 as that isn't a stable/public release yet.
