Wallpaper seems to be "covered" by my default Windows wallpaper.

As of today, it seems as if my default Windows 11 wallpaper is covering my wallpaper engine wallpaper. I can kind of see my wallpaper engine wallpaper flickering but despite all my efforts the default windows wallpaper is the only thing showing. Any ideas? If I wasn't clear enough feel free to ask more specific questions and I'll try to clarify.

Did you enable "hide desktop icons" and/or "auto hide task bar"? Because when I enable the first and then second, WPE hides and only my m+mk have the lightning effects.

Yes I did. Enabling the desktop icons makes the wallpaper appear again. It just sucks that I have to have the icons on to have the wallpaper work. Hopefully there's a fix for this soon. Thanks a lot.

Do you know if its because the latest windows update? I recently got and update with the new microsoft copilot thing and I've been having problems with it, like now It doesnt auto start fast enough so i loads for a cpl seconds after log in to desktop

Same. Ever since the most recent MS Win 11 update (build 22621) Wallpaper engine disappears behind the default Windows wallpaper and a bunch of apps I have set in startup apps don't load on startup (including icue, elgato, creative, etc.)

Also, it killed Rounded TB.

change your personalization settings, instead using backgound change it to solid color. it worked for me

I've got both "hide" settings enabled, but "hide icons" last. So, everything is hidden and chosen wallpaper works as intended. An annoying bug, but a little experimenting helped.

Same here. Since the latest Windows 11 update Wallpaper Engine doesn't function properly anymore. I have to change my Windows background every know and then to let Wallpaper Engine work properly again.

I have seen other discussions about copilot ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with wallpaper engine, so yes I am positive it has something to do with the latest Windows update.

This doesn't work as it goes back to how it is after a while. changing your default Windows background will bring the wallpaper engine wallpaper back temporarily.
