i mean the LATEST update from just other night :(
and yes, my pc did install latest windows updates (also on insider, but still waiting for next major update to be unenrolled from it), updating gpu drivers didnt help
sorry im kind of useless at explaining issues sometimes
i did make a log file if that will be any use ?
We removed the previous hack we had in place because Microsoft told us they're undoing the changes that caused the initial problem. Since we did something really nasty / hacky, we decided it was best to remove it altogether because realistically, this issue should not be affecting any users anymore within a few weeks.
Just to piggyback on this discussion, I just installed the Windows 11 Moment 4 update and it broke Wallpaper Engine when I clicked on an app in the system tray. Looks like it's tied specifically to something in this preview patch and will potentially happen to everyone when 23H2 drops in it's current state. I hope you guys find a fix for it soon!
Current "fix" is to opt out of the MS Window insider and turn off HDR.
Create a new thread, describe the problem and we will help you. Most of the time we release an update, people write us that the app is broken when really, the new update might just be corrupted through antivirus apps. If you are using an antivirus app, please follow this page first (red box and clean reinstallation, a normal reinstallation often does not suffice):
https://help.wallpaperengine.io/debug/reset.html
Please try this first, it fixes the app for most people who write us emails and posts right now.
We currently cannot fix issues for you because we extensively talked to Microsoft and they are making extreme changes to the desktop experience right now and partially rolling back some recent changes. It's just not realistically possible to provide support for this under the current circumstances though we are working with Microsoft for a long-term solution before these updates go live to stable versions of Windows. We will look at their changes in due time. If you want a stable Windows experience, please opt out of the Windows Insider's program. It sounds harsh but that is the only honest suggestion we can make.
