Razer Wallpapers Not Working
I can't get the Razer wallpapers to work at all. I have a Razer BlackWidow TE Chroma and am running Razer Synapse Version 3.5.116.10714. The plugin is enabled in Wallpaper engine but nothing happens. Any Help?

For anyone who cannot see any Razer LED effects or the LED effects option on the wallpaper, this means that there is an issue with Razer Synapse or the Chroma module in Synapse. Please make sure that you only have Razer Synapse 3 installed and the Chroma connect module inside Synapse like JELL-O described. I don't know if this has to be the 'only' module, that would be something on Razer's end.

If you still cannot see the option at all please follow these 4 steps exactly:
1. Switch to the beta: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/350544272219415004/

2. Open the general settings in Wallpaper Engine and change the log option to 'Verbose'.

3. Fully restart the program.

4. Share this log file with us by uploading it to www.pastebin.com and putting the link here in a reply: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\log.txt If the log file is too big, delete it first and restart the program again.


Done. If you did everything above, the log will now contain a little bit more info about what may be preventing the connection to Razer Synapse on your PC and we might be able to help you fix Synapse.

Try reducing the FPS in the settings. The playback rate really shouldn't have any effects on this, perhaps it looks that way because it coincidentally matches up. The FPS for the LEDs is already locked to 30 max anyway, you'll have to try lower FPS to see any difference.

If Wallpaper Engine wouldn't be able to keep up, then the wallpaper itself would have the same issue. Both things are done sequentially, so if one would skip then so should the other.

Can you see the wallpaper skipping too?

This may be something on Razer's end or you might have something installed that slows the connection between the programs too much (like a few anti-viruses do, not Windows Defender though). If reducing the FPS helps then maybe Razer needs to speed this up somewhat or we could implement an optional low FPS mode for LEDs.

EDIT: I can see a lot of Razer related apps crashing at the end of the log you shared. Perhaps a Razer background process is crashing and restarting silently? You can ignore the RzChromaBroadcastManager.dll, any DLLs or processes starting with Rz are Razer related so it's probably supposed to be there.

See all this is exactly what was going with my Nommo Chroma Speakers. 2 months broken now and no fix from Razer.

Yeah, I am afraid everything is up-to-date on your system and if Chroma even shows it's connected to Wallpaper Engine, I think this is an issue on Razer's end. Razer asked us to ask users to contact them directly about this, please reach out to Razer support directly:

Everything was working fine until the other day and now Chroma isn't working with Wallpaper engine. Wallpaper Engine is my only chroma app and iCue & Chroma SKD is my only plugin on WP

There are some issues updating Razer Chroma when Wallpaper Engine is running and Razer is going to address that with an upcoming update as far as I know. Try this:

1. Turn off Wallpaper Engine completely (!!!).
2. Uninstall your complete Razer software suite (Razer Synapse and all of that).
3. Download the latest version of Razer Synapse 3 and install it from scratch.
4. Restart your system and try again.

Just for future reference, code 1062 means "service not active" according to Razer: https://assets.razerzone.com/dev_portal/REST/html/_rz_errors_8h.html

This is an error from Razer so we can only guess. But it sounds like your Synapse installation is faulty. So if you reinstall it like Tim explained (and also install the Chroma module) then hopefully that fixes it.

I was having the same issue after each Razer update. I just figured out how to fix it. Shutdown Wallpaper Engine. Relaunch it from Stream and select the x64 version. Now it works. For some reason letting WE choose which version to run, doesn't work on my system.

That makes sense, because only the 32-bit version of Chroma will become broken then. But next time it will be the 64-bit.

Except after this very Chroma update (yesterday), this issue should hopefully finally be solved, we will have to wait and see what happens next time. It will only be solved for people who are using this latest version, however, since Chroma must have received this fix of course.

It will use the version you had running while activating the automatic start, so that's how you can switch it.

I had the same problem and found a solution for myself. Go to the WE "Settings" - "Plugins", click on the gear sign near "iCUE and Chroma SDK" and choose your monitor in the "Source monitor" field. Initially, it was blank for me. Maybe it will help someone.

I just wanted to say I also ran into this problem and after looking through it for about an hour I found that having a dual monitor set up could possibly be a problem with this because I figured out that my razor devices were actually trying to connect to my second monitor which had a background which wasn't LED enabled so after I switched the second monitor to something different which had the enable LED option it started working perfectly also so far I haven't really found a way to switch it to my main monitor but I'm working with what I have so its fine

You can change the display that the LED plugin uses in the plugin settings. Open up the Wallpaper Engine settings, go to the "Plugins" tab, then click on the cogwheel of the LED plugin. From there you can select the screen that is responsible for the LED color.
