Are you on a laptop with multiple GPUs (e.g. Intel and Nvidia)?

I am on Windows 10 on my laptop (Intel CPU, single Nvidia 940M, Intel GPU should be disabled) and videos (including Shimmering Particles and local files from my SSD) are not working. Any ideas?

Okay, so: I went to the Nvidia Control Panel and set the GPU usage for wallpaper32.exe to INTEGRATED (Intel graphics card) instead of the dedicated Nvidia card and now they're playing. Try it, guys.

Hey,
Yeah that seems to have fixed it for some others, I was going to suggest it to Makinata (if they were on a system with Nvidia Optimus).

I'll add this to the FAQ later, since it seems to be a necessity.

its happening since last month when i buy it,but good thing is all video from the software can be played,but video come from workshop can not be played,not matter what resolution it is.i try to contact the mod maker but no respond.

I'm not sure if I can help then, but which graphics card do you have? Do you also have an Intel + Nvidia graphics card combination?

And what exactly happens when you try to play a video? Can you post your log.txt from the application directory?

i use media player and otehr software to play video
so when this issue happend first i check the video is ok
btw i do what u said and found the log file it display this

Failed opening file: materials/waternormal.tex

and i dont think this is only one mod issue cause i download lots of mod about video wallpaper,they are all cant be played by wallpaper engine

And you have already tried forcing Wallpaper Engine to the integrated GPU? I guess you could also try to force it to the Nvidia one just to be sure.

i know that settings and i change that settings in nvidia control menu,make every program use the nvidia gpu not intel gpu.but i will do that again to check it out.

OMG i defenity misunderstanding what u mean , i use intel gpu now the video can be played! thats amazing! is that why video can not be played cause nvidia gpu problem .?
