If this is not it, could you maybe describe/confirm a minimal repro case?
So assuming the option is already enabled and you start the program, Wallpaper Engine will refresh the image a few seconds after launch. Now if you open the wallpaper browser, select another wallpaper and click OK to close it, it should refresh it again a few seconds later.
If you are doing it exactly like that, does the image update after launch work, but the other update doesn't work, or do maybe both not work or anything else?
also yeah it seems that was the problem! thanks for replying! just tested it out
funnily enough I found an even better solution to my rainmeter predicament which involved just letting the wallpapers alter window's accent color and then picking that up for the skins
