[SOLVED] WE keeps disconnecting my Steam Account
Hello everyone,

I got the software a couple of days ago but I only gave it a try lastnight and downloaded a few wallpapers from the workshop.
An hour ago, I opened the software again, so I could change the wallpaper and try something different:

- All the wallpapers I downloaded from the workshop disappeared
- It keeps loging me out of steam non stop. I enter my steam password, enter the dual authent code and a few seconds later I'm disconnected again. I stop having the issue when I close WE and when I open the window again it starts again.

Any tips plz?

The wallpapers you did subscripe to in the workshop will only appear if steam is running.
The logout-issue sounds strange. What windows version do you use? I know there are some issues with win 10 atm. Is there another software running that may could have problems with wallpaper engine? I cant see why this program would keep logging you out of steam alone.

Hey,
Wallpaper Engine doesn't do anything with your Steam account in the code, so maybe there is some kind of bug happening with Steam. Would reinstalling Wallpaper Engine maybe help?

The only thing it does is using Valve's official Steamworks system to query workshop items, as every other Workshop supported game. Googling your issue, some people say they get logged out when e.g. using Steam on a mobile device, did that maybe happen?

What wallpapers did you use from Workshop? Does this also happen with non-workshop wallpapers?

And lastly, yeah, the workshop items will only show up in the browser with Steam enabled. But you can keep using them even when Steam is not running.

Thnak you both for your fast replies.

It's weird, the bug's gone. I mean after my message it happens again for an hour or two and since then nothing it seems to be working fine. I said it's weird because I didn't try anything I was waiting for an answer (haven't seen your reply before now). Anyway I'm glad that it's working well now.

I did not know about the relation between the walpapers downloaded from the workshop and the steam cleint; thanks for the intel. I use windows 7 ultimate 64bit .

<<Would reinstalling Wallpaper Engine maybe help?>> I guess I don't have to reinstall anymore and I hope it will remain working fine from now on ^^.

<< Googling your issue, some people say they get logged out when e.g. using Steam on a mobile device, did that maybe happen?>> I'm always connected to steam on my mobile phone and my computer the sametime and it never happened before.

<<What wallpapers did you use from Workshop? Does this also happen with non-workshop wallpapers?>> matrix, adventure pixel, all waterfalls and the tropical one but when the bug happened, I only tried the matrix one and the bug happened when I tried to change it for something else.

I googled the issue too and none of the reasons they stated was the case for me. So yeah let's just enjoy this awesome piece of gems since everything is working fine now and I'm having so much fun. I almost go back to my desktop every 10-15 mins just to enjoy the wallpapers a few seconds. Also the audio wallpaper works flawlessly.

Ah, thanks for the info! Yeah maybe it was a fluke, some internet disconnect or something. No reason to dwell on it as long as it doesn't come back :).
