WE randomly makes high GPU usage, is this normal ?
I'm usually careful what I download, I don't go above my (1920x1080) resolution unless the image is high optimized and doesn't use much resources or... I simply like the image and I'm making a ''sacrifice''.

But sometimes my WE puts my GPU's usage to 40-50% and it's annoying literally. I'm using a 144hz display but on the settings I keep the FPS to 60 which is more than enough for this app imo, and also every quality settings is maxed out.

Why do I think this is a bug/glitch or whatever u gonna call it? Because sometimes it uses 10-20% of my GPU which is more than fine by me, theeen out of nowhere when I check my task manager (literally not using my PC with other apps) it shows 40-50%. Is there a fix for this? Without decreasing my quality? Thanks.

Edit: Like this... didn't change anything, as u can see no other app is using my GPU.

also, the only time my WE pauses is when i'm using the full screen on an app (eg video games or VLC).

another edit... it's not just this particular image, but mostly all of them, sometimes I can put the FPS to 144, and it will do the same... 10-20% usage then it increases... it's like that setting is pretty much useless.

its all about the Card clock Mhz

if your card clock gose down then you will see more use

its not a bug its not a glitch.

win. task manager is doing a very poor job as it does not show the clock Mhz
if you use GPU-Z you will see your card only at 1% 2% use

What Luke said is correct, but you can check here if you want to know more or learn how to calculate the actual usage (not what the task manager communicates incorrectly): https://help.wallpaperengine.io/performance/gpu.html

this has got to be false, it reads up to 80-90% sometimes for me and my entire PC slows down. This has only been happening to me recently

In the vast majority of cases, there is no issue. In extremely rare cases, broken graphics card drivers or conflicts with other apps can cause performance issues. If you have such issues, please describe the performance problems you have a little more and share a screenshot of the "Sensors" tab of GPU-Z while the issue is happening and a log file from our analysis tool:

https://help.wallpaperengine.io/en/debug/scantool.html

Make sure that no other app is running and that the Wallpaper Engine window is closed to have comparable results.
