Unlocking PC (Windows 11) no longer triggers LED effects for Corsair iCUE systems
Hello,

I have 3 Corsair builds with wallpaper engine that as of the latest release of iCUe (and possibly the one before it) that wallpaper engine will no longer turn on the LED effects after unlocking the PC.

Anyone else noticed this? Let me know what tests I can do to help this issue get resolved.

Cheers

This is apparently a fault in the latest iCUE version and iirc it has been posted on the iCUE forums already.

Wallpaper Engine has an option to restart itself completely after unlocking the PC. You can enable this with the "safe start after hibernation" option. This is ultimately the only conceivable workaround that would be possible from our end.

I believe that it simply requires a restart of iCUE though, so there is nothing we could possibly do about it from our end. When I reproduce the issue on my system, only a restart of iCUE (and subsequently Wallpaper Engine) makes it work again.

Thanks Biohazard. You are right. Restarting iCue and subsequently Wallpaper Engine does restore my Colour Theme. Hopefully Corsair Fixes it on the next build of iCue.

Cheers

FYI - Corsair believes the issue to be with WE or (perhaps) Windows for this. I reached out to a personal acquaintance who works for Corsiar iCue software and he was unable to figure out what happened. He has escalated to other ressources and they are investigating (unofficially)

Thanks, if they need more information, we also looked into this and iCUE seems to have a bug where the CorsairGetDeviceCount() function always returns 0 after locking and unlocking the current Windows session. This has nothing to do with Wallpaper Engine itself, the value comes from iCUE and the issue goes away after iCUE itself is restarted.

I might also get in touch with Corsair myself but you can also just tell them this on their forums / to your friend at Corsair.

I'll pass this along! Thanks Tim

This is now Resolved fully in the latest update for Corsair iCue. Thought everyone should know the functionality to lock and unlock your PC while using icue plugin now works correctly. (devices don't stay dark after unlocking)
