If something uses "perspective" rendering then it will look different based on the angle it is observed from, but images don't use it by default and most effects (i.e. light shafts that you mentioned) don't use it by default either.
Would like MaxMagnus be able to lock them into place on a specific place on the wallpaper, so they move together. I'm totally new to using parallax so maybe there is away.
Maybe the problem is that I can't generate depth map cause the "ok" is grayed out. So I just painted what I wanted to be affected.
You have to match the parallax value of the particle effect with the depth map that you painted. So first just edit your depth map until you like how it is, then select the magic sparkle layer and adjust the two "parallax depth" sliders on the right side.
Click the icon between them so you can enter different values and change them until they match up with the image effect.
This is basically what was done here for the character, which is a different layer but it matches with the depth parallax effect: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2665939987&searchtext=
I know where the layers are where you add assets, the scene options, and how to add effects on the original wallpaper.
I for example don't understand what you mean by "parallax value of the particle effect "
So please explain again with great detail. Sorry. x)
I would just love an option to actually add existing assets like "magic sparkle" or "fog" as an effect instead to your wallpaper, then it would stick and you wouldn't have to worry about this. Then again as I said, I'm new and is probably missing something vital and easy.
Please zip the entire project (click on edit -> open in Explorer to find the project files) and send it to logs@wallpaperengine.io as an email attachment or share it somewhere like Google Drive and post the link here for us to check out.

Activate parallax. Paint the parallax on the ships. And put , magic sparkles on somr of the stars.
Then with whatever settings, the magic sprakles you put on will be off..
