Icon in taskbar not showing, file is missing.
The icon on the taskbar is missing. When I try to pin it, it says:
Problem with Shortcut
The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Wallpaper Engine.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resouce is available, and then try again.

I've verified software files, reinstalled it to my SSD (it was on my HDD before) and still nothing. I'm on Windows 11.

Does anyone have a fix to this?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to create a new shortcut from the installation directory for wallpaper32.exe or create a new shortcut from your Steam library. If the taskbar icon works, but is blank, see here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/3126037522479214400/

I can create a shortcut to the desktop just fine. It's just for some reason it doesn't show up on the taskbar. Says the file is missing (like I mentioned). I looked at that link first before making this post, but I can't find what he's talking about for the second option.

Remove all Wallpaper Engine related icons from the task bar and restart the PC, now open the wallpaper browser and try to pin the icon that belongs to the browser.

Does it show the same error message even now? I don't know why it would say "Wallpaper Engine.lnk" since that's not something that exists by default, so that's odd.

Remove the icon from the taskbar? Not sure what you mean, I can create a shortcut for desktop and it shows the icon, you want me to remove it there you mean?
