(Mobile) Backup no worky: App can't see mpkg files
I eventually got the main connection working, but while trying to fix it I realized the backup method doesn't work. When Selecting "Import File", the in-app browser doesn't even recognize that there is an .mpkg file in the selected folder.

This should really be reliable, which folder did you place the files on? Is it an SD card or the internal memory?
Coping Kobold Nov 26, 2021 @ 1:40pm
Internal memory. It DOES, by the way, show up in my phone's native file browser.

Which folder did you use exactly and what's your Android version and device? That would help with reproducing this issue.
Coping Kobold Nov 26, 2021 @ 2:04pm
Samsung Galaxy S9+
Android Version 10
Internal Storage>Pictures>Wallpapers. I believe this is a folder I created manually.

Can you navigate to the file in your phone's file explorer, click on it and then launch it? Android should give you options on how to launch it and you should be able to pick Wallpaper Engine from a list of possible apps. Does that work for you?

"You don't have any apps that can play this type of file. Search for one in the app store."
It does not let me pick Wallpaper Engine.

That's very unusual, we have not had any similar reports yet and from the top of my head I cannot think of a reason why this wouldn't work. How did you install the app, via the Google Play store or as a direct APK download?
Coping Kobold Nov 27, 2021 @ 4:37pm
The play store.
Oh well. It's not much of an issue anyway; as I said I did get the main method working.

It's quite bizarre, we will keep this in mind and investigate once we're not drowning in emails and forum posts anymore, sorry I couldn't be of more help now!

Ive also seemed to have the same issue I cant use the back up option it wont recognize the .mpkg files so idk if its a bug or a system error

Could you try if it works on the latest APK now?

Can you try and move the files to the Downloads directory of your phone? At this point we are thinking that your phone is probably blocking Wallpaper Engine from accessing your image folder for security reasons. Would be cool just to figure out why it is not working for you, we tested this on a dozen phones now and it always seems to work reliably for us.

Which phone / Android version are you using and what folders are your MPKG files?
