Wallpaper engine not working
Hey there,

I recently bought wallpaper engine, awesome program! On my desktop it runs smoothly and without any problems. Although on my laptop it's a different case, it starts up and as soon I hit a wallpaper it does nothing. It just keeps the default windows 10 wallpaper and doesn't show/load the ones I have downloaded from steam. Like I see they are downloaded but they won't load up on my desktop screen as a background.

FYI:
Windows 10 latest update.
All drivers are up to date.
There are no additional programs that could prevent wallpaper engine from not showing.

Do the stock wallpapers also not work or are they not showing up either? Do they at least show up in a separate window if you right click and choose 'play in window'?

Edit: Also try the beta if possible: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/350544272219415004/

Thanks for the heads-up!

Never mind, only 1 works, the rest of them just give me a black screen.

That's probably something different though, is it a laptop with AMD graphics? It's necessary to set the program to 'power saving' in the radeon options. Same with Nvidia hybrid laptops, but there it should happen automatically as long as the program is launched once through Steam.

So I did that, but it still won't work :(

Here is a picture, I restarted it and such.

It looks like the system video player has two issues (c00d5212 , c00d36fa). The first one is usually caused by the program being assigned to the wrong graphics card though. Are you using the 64-bit version all the time (since that was the one you switched) and did you restart afterwards?

Maybe an easier fix could be to just use these video modules instead of fixing the primary one: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/1484358860951576217/

This laptop model has a problem with switching from the gpu to the integrated gpu and around. So maybe that might be the problem. I'll look into it once more and if your first solution doesn't work i'll just try the second one.

So, I tried something. Some wallpapers are actually working and some are not working. Especially the bigger ones don't work.

Downloaded the video modules and changed the setting in Wallpaper Engine to LAV, no succes.

That's unfortunate, which graphics cards does the laptop have exactly? Could you share links to some video wallpapers that worked and some that didn't?

(Also did you restart WE after installing LAV, I think otherwise it will not learn about the new modules?)
